Questions and Answers
- What was your role in this part of the Assignment? Test Administrator or Student?
I am a test administrator in charge of overseeing that the requisite tests are administered to the identified student. It is vital that all the prescribed procedures and methodology are followed to the letter in order to achieve impeccable results.
- How do you think a student’s familiarity with the Administrator can affect the results?
A student’s familiarity with the test administrator can affect the test results negatively. This is because their prior relations might significantly influence the administrator. This makes him subjective as he or she fails to look at the findings in an objective manner. Indeed, it is not only advisable, but also desirable that the administrator and student be strangers to avoid a scenario where their relationship might cloud the judgment of the administrator.
- How do you think an Administrator’s familiarity with a student can affect the results?
The administrator will be tempted to examine their past interactions rather than what has been observed and examined during the time the tests are carried out. The behavior of the student may also be off guard or exaggerated depending on the nature of their previous interactions. This means that the administrator is more likely to be subjective, unconsciously or not, because of his familiarity with the student. The degree of interference depends on the nature of their relationship.
- Explain how your familiarity with your partner may have affected your:
- Confidence
One’s confidence may either be boosted or reduced depending on how comfortable one is working with a particular partner. For example, if one is working with a person who believes in him or her or looks up to he or she, then their confidence will be significantly boosted. In contrasts, working with a person with a history of second guessing every decision one makes can reduce one’s confidence.
- Attitude
- Expectations
A familiar partner particularly makes one to expect similar results. This is because their methodology and analysis can be predicated.
- Perseverance
This is dependent on the character of the person. If one has worked with someone who does not give up easily, he will motivate them to keep going. Working with strangers, on the other hand, may cause one to give up quite easily.
- Overall, how would you describe this experience?
The experience was overwhelming, educational, insightful, interesting, and one that I will cherish for quite some time. Indeed, I was able to put into practice not only the theoretical concepts learnt in class, but also my communication and presentation skills to obtain the perfect results. Being an administrator is a daunting task and requires one to be alert at all times and patient. These are some of the elements that can only be tested in practice. I am happy I was able to test my resilience and hard work.
- What implications will this have on your future teaching?
It will provide an insightful reflection and a vital background upon which I will draw my illustrations and experience. It has also equipped me with the requisite skills, knowledge, experience, expertise and competence to be able to facilitate my career advancement and progress. It has also taught me to be more attentive, patient and objective in my study and research work. These are cardinal values for any successful career. Moreover, I will be able to learn and teach in a way that reflects the reality on the ground.
- What areas of assessment do you need to explore further to enhance your teaching expertise?
I would like to further explore two critical areas. These include areas that touch on the social well-being of the students and matters dealing with management of not only the timetables, but the entire teaching arena. Indeed, it is critical to care about one’s students, but also to remain detached from their social lives in order to make objective assessments. With regard to management concerns, there is a need to ameliorate the nature and scope of my delivery and competence.
