Workplace Bullying is an issue that has affected several employees all over the United States of America. There are several ways through which employees are bullied in the workplace. It includes isolating an employee or mentally hurting someone through negative words, responses, attitude or behavior. Personally, I have faced a situation where I was bullied by one of my superiors in the workplace. There were instances where my work was constantly and deliberately undermined, in order to isolate me socially and ensure I leave the organization. The bullying instances worked for a while, but they were limited once I complained to the HR department. Bullying is a huge problem at the workplace as it causes loss of talented resources, reduced productivity, negative workplace environment, etc. Overall, these problems can easily cripple workplace environment and relationships and develop trust issues within the organization. Workplace Bullying is active in all industries and there are several instances of bullying in the hospitality industry. The hospitality industry is well-known for fostering cultures of harassment and bullying in the workplace.
