Australia, the outback, and Aborigines: the Future
Australia is a continent encircled by many environmental issues. This comes because of the constant drought through the Southern portion of Australia. The drought has effects on water bodies hence leading to high salinity in the water bodies. The drought might end in the discharge of heavy metals ingested by aquatic life like fish. Fish is a major protein resource to the Australians, and the heavy metals affect the persons who consume the fish. Lake Albert is a good example of this hazard.
Australia is also surrounded by social issues like multiculturalism. There are different communities who co-exist together so as to strengthen cohesion and inter-community harmony. This helps the Australian society to curb vices such as racism. The Australian regime came up with a policy which could enable everyone to uphold their culture and work on improving Australia as a nation. This was done on 16th February 2011. Mineral mining and tourism play an important role in the economy of the nation. Improvements of infrastructure and employment opportunities have come as a result of the industries.
The aboriginal population composed a part of the total Australian population. Aborigines had hailed from Asia and became native residents of Australia. Though they were composed of different groups, they had an extremely unifying culture, which made them more connected to the land. The Aborigines had a unlike skin color from the Australians. Their skin was dark while the Australians were light-skinned. They reproduced with the light-skinned natives and gave rise to off springs who were of intermediate color.
The aborigines’ controversy
Because of the skin color difference, a controversy based on the skin color difference arose. The aborigines were then tracked down and murdered. Children who bore the mixed blood were regarded well than the aborigine parent was and less evolved than the light-skinned parent. The children could at times be stolen and used in museums or as specimens for laboratory experiments. This kind of judgment came because of the skin color difference. Racism is totally against humankind, so the aborigines deserved legal rights to return to Australia and co-exist with them.
