Essay Prompt: Write an essay that addresses the rise of Islam, and ascertain/determine why Islam became a major world religion. Be sure to incorporate where necessary, specific terminology, as distributed in my previous email to each of you, to demonstrate your command and knowledge of the Islamic religion.
Islam has become a major world religion. Unfortunately, Islam has been painted as a religion that hoards terrorists. This could not be further than the truth. In fact, Islam is one of the largest world religions that convers more than just the Middle East. Islam is as in the regions of parts of Asia and the African continent. When trying to ascertain why Islam spread in such a phenomenal way, it is important t look at the trading patterns for the ancient world in order to study Islam effectively. These routes will lead you to a blueprint from the Ancient World that serves as the ultimate guide to the rise and spread of Islam. Islam is actually one of the most peaceful religions in the world, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 287). Thus, in order to understand what is necessary is the root about Islam, one has to know the history surrounding the region in order to accurately assess the actual faith today and why it has become one of the largest religions in the world, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 292).
Islam now is one of the world’s largest religions, and it is no surprise why. When Islam experienced its golden era of development, the countries were accessed through trade roots, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 375). This is precisely why Islam can be found in Northern Africa, the side of Africa, and parts of Asia, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 326). The spread of this was achieved through peaceful trade routes, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 425). Ironically, Islam is one of the most peaceful faiths. Where Islam that went wrong and now the faith pays for it dearly in having a corrupt image to the Western world and also having a corrupt image that is tied to the Islamic extremist that have had several recent terrorist attacks in Brussels and Paris. Events such as this, are terrible for the public image towards Islam that is already rocky and does not need events such as this to happen against the faith. What this does is to establish a lack of unity.
All in all, Islam is one of the world’s largest religions. The reason for this is that they are just beginning to integrate from the Western faiths, (Smith, B.G., 2012, Chapter, 392). Islam had been very closed off for centuries and now that this is opening there is an even larger opportunity to educate about why terrorism is wrong and how Islam has to possess a more peaceful identity, (Smith, B.G., 2012, 277).
