In the automobile industry, Honda focuses on improving its production and making better cars. The company made the decision based on the engine failure and recalled cars. The company management has changed. Since then the company continues to reassure consumers, analysts and dealers of quality production. The recall adversely affected the company’s stock.
Amazon Logistics
Speculations have mounted on the plans of Amazon.com to compete with FedEx and UPS. The plans of the company are to enhance its global expansion process on Fulfillment by FBA services. The services provided include shipping, packing, and storage for independent merchants. Amazon is vying to dominate the e-commerce in the world. The company intends to start a Global Supply Chain to put itself at the center of the logistics industry. Also, Amazon plan is to bypass the brokers and gather inventory from merchants globally (Soper 31). The logistic operations of the company could be a $400 billion business.
Focus on MBA
Hiring MBA graduates is a debatable issue in the tech industry. Facebook Chief Operating Officer is an MBA holder, but he is not recommending future stars to have it. He believes that MBA is not a necessary component in the tech industry. Silicon Valley asserts a lot of value to MBAs than the Wall Street. Notably, 43% of students from the University of California were employed in the tech industry (Kitroeff and Patrick 50). In 2015, Microsoft, IBM, Google, and Amazon.com hired many MBAs. The presence of MBAs in tech is an indication of maturity in the business. MBAs in the business may keep the companies out of trouble, but they do not create value.
