Searching for New Opportunities
Among the first things I would do is check the internet and travel virtually. I would call this process as travelling online. I would visit some of the great churches of the world: Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres in France; the Cathedral of St. Peter in Cologne, Germany; the Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, Kent, England; the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican; and, of course, St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. I will try to tour the cities where these Churches are found in the next five years. Alongside these churches, I would also like to see some mosques like: the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jersualem, Palestine; Hassan Il Mosque in Morrocco; Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque in Brunei; and the Zahir Mosque in Kedah, Malaysia. These structures can great accomplishments of human hands. They were done with deep commitment and vision, and unrelenting passion. These structures inspire me that people could work so hard to fulfill their dreams. I would tour the Louvre Museum even if only online. Many of people’s needs are the same through the years. How these are fulfilled changes because of technology. I would like to understand these needs at their most basic forms, before the advent of electricity, and modern engineering and technology.
I will also have to walk the streets of New York, especially Wall Street. I will have to feel the environment where some of the most influential—for good or for ill—organizations in the world. Again, I will have to travel online to see the people and what sorts of things they do and make. Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore would be among the cities that I could learn about and see online. Beijing and Mumbai would also be great cities discover even just online to see the contrast how the old world can be transformed into a modern metropolis and at the same time preserve character and soul of the old cities.
Future Generation
The most likely people who would be under my supervision are those my age up those ten years younger than me. I will to read and research a lot about issues with demographic group. In particular, I will have to check their interests in pop culture, in education and in technology. I will have to understand their possible needs in the future as a result of the problems and environment of today. For sure, developments like ISIS, 2008 financial crisis and climate change would have affected their mindset and would show in their behavior later on. As I walk the streets of New York, I will have to check out stores that sell mobile communications technology, video games, and toys. I will also have to listen to the music they listen to now.
Future Trends to Influence Me
There are two trends that I think would affect me seriously: technology and our generation’s behavior and culture. Technology will still remain the focus of many people’s interest and of development. New technology will emerge even in consumer products that would balance people’s needs and convenience, and protection of the environment. Every generation has a culture and behavior patterns of its own. There will be conflicts. I will have to learn and understand this so I can be effective in dealing with people I would be working with. Such understanding of people would also come in handy in marketing and product development should my contribution be needed in this regard.
My Vision Statement
A man for others. That is what I will be. I will do my best in everything that I do, keeping in mind to always do the moral thing and not to abuse people and the environment. I will succeed so I can support my needs and those of my loved ones and enjoy comfortable life. I will have to succeed so I will have a little bit of excess income that I could use to help others and contribute to the welfare of the economy. I will always strive for perfection even in the most simple tasks that I will undertake. I will continue to study and learn so I can always be among the best in what I do. In doing so, I can also teach and train other people. That would be of great help to whatever job that I will have because people will highly skilled and make my life easier. In my growth, there will always people who would help so I will have to also do my share in helping others.
