According to National Association of Homebuilders (2010), Pulte Homes is a top 500 company in the list of the key American public corporations based on their contributions to the American economy. It is the focus of this paper to examine how the company’s vision and mission statements along with its strong adherence to the ethical principles has earned it the strongest competitive advantage ever.
The recent study by Zacks Investment Research (2017) in liaison with other organizations has established that Pulte Homes’ markets have significantly expanded across 40 markets not only in the United States but also throughout Puerto Rico, Argentina and Mexico. The company’s commitment in offering exceptional services to their clients in these areas has created solid customers base thus making the firm “America’s Best Builder.” In addition to emerging as the most outstanding homes builder, Pulte Homes Inc. provide other specialized services to their clients including offering a wide variety of loan products which provide thee customers with a buying experience that goes beyond their expectations. Despite the rival competition in the industry, with key players including DR Horton Inc., Lennar Inc. and NVR, the company has managed to gain favorable competitive advantage. As a result, Pulte Homes is the most leading home builder currently in the United States especially in building adult communities.
Pulte Homes’ mission statement and/or vision statement is to “build consumer inspired homes and communities to make lives better” (Pulte, 2006, p. 19). Accordingly, the company’s commitment in offering quality and specialized services to its customers is reflective of its mission and vision. The firm’s mission and/or vision statement epitomize its value for customer satisfaction and is the best choice from among the key players in the American homebuilding industry. The strong mission and vision statements of the company has made it very dynamic and responsive to the highly dynamic and diverse customer needs.
Nonetheless, Pulte Homes has an established Code of Ethics in which the company’s principles, values and policies are enshrined. The code of ethics provides the standards which must be upheld by both the employees and the managing team (Pulte, 2006). In light of this, the ethical principles and policies under which the company works revolve around upholding employees and customer privacy, health and safety as well as environmental compliance. The strictly observes the Code of Ethics and strongly punish the members of the staff who act contrary to the provisions of the Code. For instance, it is a serious policy violation to disclose or disseminate any confidential information regarding the company’s employees and their families or the customers and their families.
In conclusion, Pulte Homes is a top homebuilding corporation in American homebuilding industry with its services spanning across more than 40 markets in the United States as well as in Puerto Rico, Argentina and Mexico. As a result, it has firm customer base thus emerging as the most successful firm in the industry with strong market advantage than any company in the market. The company’s mission and vision has been the source of success, making it more focused on achieving customer satisfaction. The strong adherence to the code of Ethics has helped the company in maintaining professional relationships in place of work.
