Abstract
Every business or enterprise has a group of risks that are associated with it thus probing the need to establish a risk management plan. If the risks are not mitigated, they can cause losses and other adverse effects to the business. The primary types of risks include accidents, injuries, errors and damage to facilities and equipment among others. Safety risk management refers to the identification, analysis and mitigation of hazards and risks that may affect the functioning of an organization. Before implementing a security risk management, there is the need to identify the risks and have mitigation strategies in place. The identification process involves stating the hazard, identifying the particular cause and determining the project’s specific risks. Safety in risk management is applied in various fields such as aviation and hospitals. Therefore, due to their application in the different field, there is the need to identify the risk in the particular workplace and take precautions. The two most critical components of safety in risk management are identifying the possible hazards, assessment, and mitigation. Effective risk management helps in the minimization of insurance costs that could have been incurred if the actual risk occurred among the employees, clients or the facility.
