I firmly believe that the EBS and the Durham name would be a significant embellishment to my qualification. I understand that the scholarship awards are largely allotted to candidates with a high level of achievements. However, without an undue trumpeting of my achievements and in all humility I feel I fit that slot. I am a person who has a number of achievements to my credit and feel that the scholarship would enable me to continue achieving my aspirations.
One can substantiate one’s qualification for such scholarships through one’s achievements and determination in trying times. My entire life has been a story in moving forward through achievements, while arising from various tribulations. While I fought TB early on in life and emerged a survivor, I also moved from my university in India to an internship in Germany. This is not something that an average academic peer of mine could have managed. In fact, I was the only one to gain a prestigious internship at INFITEC, which eventually became my stepping stone to success.
However, I wasn’t content with merely working as an Intern at INFITEC since I wanted to achieve something better. During my internship, I worked with dedication and sincerity, which paid off. After my graduation from University, I was hired by INFITEC as a Marketing Analyst/Developer. During this period, I developed myself by augmenting my core competencies into newer areas of Marketing, by displaying strong leadership skills, teamwork as well as for overall performance on the job. In just a year and a half I was promoted to the position of a Marketing Director with a direct reporting to the MD/CEO, based on my stellar performance. Clearly, such a major move within a Tech firm is no mean feat and would continue to be a very major achievement.
Clearly, from the above, one can understand that I am a person who overcomes obstacles to achieve the heights of success. My admission to the EMBA program would also be one such critical milestone and a major achievement in life, which I would cherish for the rest of my life.

How do you believe your participation on this programme will contribute to your professional development in the future?

I am of the belief that one is to excel in a corporate environment, a robust professional qualification becomes indispensable. One sees refined leadership opportunities available to a person who has such qualifications. It is for this reason I strongly believe that my participation in the program will sincerely contribute to my overall development.
Most of the successful business leaders that I met or interacted with had the best of people management and core business skills. As I aspire to move up the ladder, I feel the need to develop strong leadership skills, while also simultaneously developing core business skills. The EMBA program is poised to provide this very platform for me to embark on a successful professional career. However, I would not want to restrict my career as a working professional and, at some point, would like to move on to being an entrepreneur. As a first step, I have already commenced work on my own music label start up as well as my own lifestyle blog. I would like to build a firm that would leave a mark in the industry. If I have to expand this business further, I would need to develop the required skills that would come only through advanced business programs such as the EMBA program. While knowledge of core technologies and markets are important, in the modern competitive marketplace the value of a professional degree cannot be understated. This is one of the main reasons for my participation in this program.
When I begin handling assignments of a nature that requires global professional experience combined with cross functional experiences, the EMBA program would be highly apt to help me get a foothold in such specialized positions. At some point, I would like to rise to the post of a Chief Marketing Officer, which would only be possible through my successful participation in this program.
Given these aspects, I would like to state that my participation will immensely contribute to the development of my leadership, people as well as business skills and thus help me in the future by carving out a successful career.
