My intellectual love affair with chemistry and forensic science began in my high school years. I was lucky, during this formative period of my life, to have a series of excellent chemistry instructors and classes; my enthusiasm for chemistry grew throughout these years. I became more and more interested in the discipline; in my free time, I read chemistry books and learned the history of the subject. It was clear to me that I wanted to build a career out of this interest. After I graduated high school, I was accepted into the Abu Dhabi police force academy to complete a study ...
When President Obama claimed that the U.S. could “out-compete” any country around the globe, he also emphasized that Americans needed to up the ante in terms of innovation . America has always been viewed as land of opportunities, a place where dreams could be turned into realities. This view was held not only by U.S. citizens, but also by the vast body of immigrants who resided in the nation as well as millions of people around the world who hoped to one day make the American Dream their own.
America was also the land of innovation and invention. Generation after ...
I have planned to complete my bachelors in Civil Engineering and become a civil engineering. Syracuse University is one of the renowned universities of the world and I feel proud to get enrolled in the university to become an engineer. Although I am very passionate to learn and implement what I have learnt however I have a specific reason for doing civil engineering. My family runs an investment company with the name of Wan Liang Investment ltd in China. Our company is involved in civil and construction businesses and therefore this has been one of the reasons for me to do ...
The dominant reason behind why I’ve decided to undertake an MA in International Studies is because I see that the world is ceasing to be a localised experience for the bulk of its populous and is, instead, a global municipal which requires a unique set of skills and knowledge than has previously not been needed. My life’s goal is to try and make a difference in the world but, in order to be truly effective in this pursuit, I must first fully understand what the world needs and how best to meet those needs. Whilst studying for my undergraduate degree, I ...
The business person who is both socially astute and civilly responsible is the one that will go the farthest. I firmly believe this, and take it to heart in my interaction with both the world of academia and the world outside the university system. I come to that system intending to pursue a major in business. I believe that by doing so I will be able to give back to my community, and the world at large, through pursuing business prospects that are good for both me, and society as a whole. This outlook enables me to move forward as part ...
Perhaps it is a little bit clichéd today, but the world is increasingly interconnected. Modern, affordable air travel has increased people’s capacity to travel to far-off lands for both business and pleasure. Furthermore, the rise of the Internet has facilitated contact and communication with diverse cultures, which not too long ago would have seemed impossible. Finally, the British Empire, and its successor in global hegemony the United States of America, along with Hollywood and the Internet have cemented the use of English as a lingua franca in International affairs and business. Despite the rise of English, significant portions of ...
My younger brother’s doctor kept on apologizing for not able to save him. Alas! My ten year brother lost his life. It was that phase of my life when I did not know enough about health and life-death transition. He did not have any major disease. He was just suffering from flu and fever. On the other hand, his doctor diagnosed him with malaria meningitis. He was not able to identify my brother’s disease. However, he was sure that malaria took away the life of my brother as the disease was a common cause of death among children ...
1. The extent to which you feel you have attained the course objectives. Please be specific and address each of the objectives.
I believe that the medical sociology is isolated as a social institution. As a social institution, medicine has value (objectives, principles, and codes), structure, and function, form its organization, symbols, statuses and roles (doctors, patients, government, etc.), the system of vocational stratification and vocational education. Allocation of medical sociology as an independent branch was only in the 50s of 19th century in the United States. For the first time, a new industry was in demand for sociological education student health professionals (Cockerham, 2011).
In this course I found that the concept of demography and the subject of her study and the population ...
There are many reasons why I have chosen to pursue a degree in business; both my personal and professional experience, as well as my own desires, have led me to this point. From my birth, to my own talents, and even my volunteer and employed work, I have been fervently working towards the pursuit of a career in business; I have done many things up to this point to prepare me for this path.

In a fast developing world of job opportunities, there are only few careers that remain as extremely important as they were even few centuries ago. I am strongly convinced that Finance can be considered one of those areas of study that will always be a clear direction to take when choosing a career path – in fact, money makes the world go round, and unless you know how it works, you are not able to be a part of the world’s driving force.
I am inclined to believe that my interest in Finance was sparked by my mother. Since she was interested ...
Nowadays information is considered to be the most valuable possession – as a powerful means of influence on people it can actually rule the humanity and induce many changes in the world.
All kinds of media contribute to the formation of certain images in people’s minds that leads to either global development or global setback. As a representative of those individuals who would like to have at least minor influence on what is going on in the world, I decided to participate in the process of gaining and expansion of information – I believe that it would endue me with favorable ...

In the twenty first century, we are living in period whereby financial crises and mismanagement of the available resources are being inappropriately allocated and misused, leading to catastrophic financial outcomes in the economic world, and upon an unprecedentedly high rate. This is the ...
When I show an ordinary box to someone and ask her the question what do you see. I may get the simple answer it’s a box. But if you show me the same box and ask the same query, I would say I see a canvas. A material I could use to express my ideas and share to the world in the future. I would often define myself as a visionary who likes to see pass the status quo in society. I feel that the world has more to offer than what are currently seen in society. I believe in the ...

Admission Essay – Birmingham Foundation Academy
My decision to choose the University of Birmingham as the headquarters for my future education comes from a variety of factors. Having grown up in Nigeria, I have experienced a number of difficulties throughout my life, all seen through the lens of a young country that is still struggling to find its place in the world. The primary source of wealth in the Nigerian government today is oil, a substance which has caused quite a bit of strife and corruption in my country – the way it is refined, distributed and taxed still suffers from quite a few problems. To that end, I want to make a ...

Confidence, good sense of humor, sincerity and good communication skills have always been the strong sides of my personality and have continuously helped me to get along well with people of all ages. However, working with children has always been of a special interest to me. The idea of playing an active role in helping them learn, develop, discover new things about the world and gain some valuable insight into their perceptions and the way they see the world has always greatly appealed to me. Therefore, I have decided to apply to the Primary Education degree at the University of Greenwich, ...

I challenged or questioned religion. The exposure I have had to the global dominions made me question religion. My father comes from Hindu family and my mother from Zoroastrian dominion, and I have been schooling, for the last five years, within a devout Christian school. Besides, I have had the opportunity of conversing, meeting, as well as creating relationships with individuals of many dissimilar dominions. Currently, with the social media and internet, my generation has had exposure to the world than was before. Such exposure prompts anyone to question, as well as learns the world critically, and not takes issues ...
Personal Statement: Make the World Move Forward
I have always studied hard, because I have a passionate ambition to study computer science at the University of Washington so that I can one day return to help poor children in rural China, who currently have little or no opportunity to obtain a decent education. In high school I was captain of the soccer team, as I was very good at sports, as well as being in the top flight in most of my academic subjects. I am an immigrant from China, living in the U.S. with my mother who does not speak English, and have to work as well ...
Beyond Freedom and Dignity by B.F. Skinner is a challenge to deeply held beliefs regarding the autonomous nature of humans. Skinner, being one of the founding fathers of the behavioral movement reduces most human activity to a function of social living. Behaviorism has a distinct advantage over other psychological schools insofar as it’s hypotheses can be tested using the scientific method, and observation of objective behavior over subjective thoughts. While primary using rats as his experimental models, Skinner extrapolated his findings to human behavior to create a theory that promoted social conditioning on mass scale in order to create social control.

Since childhood, I have always kept abreast with major developments across the world. However, I had a bias for topics in relation to human rights, especially topics related to the underprivileged in the society at large. The desire to champion for the rights of the underprivileged is one of the primary reasons I decided to pursue law. My pursuit of law is not only an economic endeavour but also a spiritual endeavour. I believe an LLM will heighten my participation and professional impact on the world. I am motivated and highly focused on obtaining an LLM.

Japan is a unique society with no equal in the world. It’s isolated geography, breathtaking mountains, eclectic cities, and island status offers an unparalleled experience to the body and soul. Since I had started learning about yoga approximately eight years ago, I became increasingly interested in Shinto and Buddhist monasteries and the ancient techniques that they employ. On an academic and a spiritual level, no other country can provide me with the depth and breadth of learning experience that can be had in Japan.
I am a renaissance person by nature and enjoy to be actively engaged in multiple projects ...
Art Business
Art inspired minds of people throughout the entire history of humankind. From the paintings on the walls of caves to beautiful art galleries, people tried to explain and share their thoughts using creativity and talent. My intense interest in Art dates back to my high school years when I took an Art course of higher level in the IB programme, but Art has always been a passion of mine. I was fascinated about the genius of the people who contributed to the history of art leaving their heritage for the next generations. My family always appreciated the value of ...
I am highly interested in pursuing a PhD project at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. This project will involve deep exploration of the subject of low-carbon innovations and the factors that influence them, which is an attractive subject for me (“Theoretical and Empirical Studies on the Dynamic Diffusion of Low Carbon Innovations: the Perspective of Socio-technical System Evolution”). I look forward to applying my knowledge and skills to the analysis of current knowledge and foreseeable trends. My studies thus far, and the fact that this project is set in China, are driving factors in my decision to apply for this ...
Dear Graduate Program X selection committee,
Before I can even remember, I realized I saw life through a different lens. Whether lifting my eyes to glimpse the soaring beauty of the Aya Sophia or humbled by the stark wonder of Cappadocia, I realized I saw the world as designed creations of humans and nature. It is through this lens that I see design being the creation of meaningful solutions in the world that surrounds us.
My passion for design started in early adolescence. I became fully aware of this passion during high school. After graduation it motivated my choice to study in the United States. ...
A DEGREE AND CAREER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE 2
I’ve always liked science and had a knack for gadgets. As I grew older I got a little more interested in computers, cell phones and things of that nature. Twenty years ago the world used plain cell phones, and large monitor computers. That has all changed and new ideas and innovations are leading the industry with new technology. Many people are now using smart phones, you don’t have to press a button anymore because its touch screened. Voice activation is another great part of it. All of these things we can now do unlike two decades ago ...
The world of numbers has served as my playground for years now and I can proudly mention that I enjoyed analyzing business, finance and trends. After I earned my degree in accounting last 2011 from King Saud University I immediately felt the desire to pursue graduate studies since I believe that I can still stretch my potentialities in my field of choice. Pursuing higher studies will not only expose me to more complex accounting theories and techniques, but it will undoubtedly help me become more competitive and knowledgeable in the field.
I look at accounting as a profession that ...
Having studied in British system school (Cambridge IGCSE) up to Grade 11 (till aged 16) and in American system school for Grade 12, I finally graduated when I was 17 and understood that now I would like to try a different type of education system. I want to understand the differences and to obtain new knowledge.
My choice fell to Australia because it is well-known for its high standards of education and quality of the obtained knowledge. This is the Motherland of such famous historians as Suzanne Baker and Arthur Basham. Australia also invites by being a ...

Every single phenomenon in this world is based on the figures – either this is the simplest electronic device, or the money in a wallet, or logistics, or even a boiling kettle. Absolutely everything we are surrounded by is all about figures. No wonder that the first time I closely got acquainted with the world of figures was when I was a child. Thanks to my family I was able to realize a significant importance of those amusing hooks scratched on the paper very early and thus, it helped me shape my life and career aspirations before I actually could think them over.

While most people are obsessed with the idea of making a fortune pursuing a career in business affairs or in a fast-growing IT field, some still care about the core of our existence – our physical and mental health. It goes without saying that health is one of those priceless things in life that money cannot buy, and as soon as I was mature enough to realize it, my future was determined: I was firmly resolved to dedicate my life to medicine and health care. Particularly, I wanted to deal with Psychiatry, as 8 of 10 leading causes of disability in the ...
My passion for business has been the guiding force that has determined the educational path I’ve taken during the past several years. After completing a degree in Finance in King Saud University, I am now ready to take the next step in that path, which is to attain an MBA degree from the Claremont Graduate University.
Although I have enjoyed excellent grades from studying Finance, I believe that my proficiency in this field alone will not be enough to help me succeed in business, whether I end up working for other companies or I later decide to establish my ...
Question 1
My intended major is mathematical economics. As a child, it was intriguing to see that some successful people made predictions about potential risks in the economy, and the predictions came true. This sparked my interest in mathematics and economics. I came to learn that Mathematics plays a significant role in economics; a role that has been increasing in importance as the years go by. Consequently, I have come to appreciate the fact that Mathematics is progressively important in regard to the expression as well as communication of concepts in economics. Today, activity in financial markets is generally governed by mathematical models. My ...
Ever since I have known, I was fascinated with things around me, always inquisitive and famished for knowledge, for personal progress and opening new horizons. This has proven to be one of my major traits, molding my personality into that of an extremely curious human being, who treats others as he himself would like to be treated and always desiring to know more.
For the person I am now, I have many people to thank. I come from a close and loving family, who offered unconditional love and support to me and my siblings. My childhood was one filled with ...
The course I have applied for at the European Business School London is MA in International Business. I should mention that this decision is based not only on my professional experience, but also on my personal interest and great desire to learn the world of international business inside out.

Right after I accomplished Bachelor’s degree in Business Communication and English at the University of Economics and Computer science in Warsaw, I decided that the international ...
For a brave traveler through the desert, the ultimate goal is to arrive at his destination safely and in one piece. He has to endure the scorching sun that dehydrates him through and through with limited supply of food and water that can only sustain him for a certain period of time. He has to grapple with the extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, through the day and night respectively having to dress lightly during the day and then dressing warmly during the night to fight the cold. Desert animals like scorpions and snakes pose an imminent danger upon an encounter ...
Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to know how things worked, especially living things. I would constantly ask questions of my teachers and parents, keep collections of butterflies, rocks, and insects, and more, my curiosity leading me to a deeply-felt interest in biology. I am extremely passionate about the field of biology, as I want to learn more about the behavior and composition of organisms, and how best to apply that to our everyday world. To that end, I wish to apply to Carnegie Mellon’s computational biology program in order to benefit from one of the ...
Personal Statement – Broadcast News Program
Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by broadcast news. As a child, I would sit down with my parents every night at dinner and watch the people in the “box” cover everything going on the world. While I knew I didn’t understand much of it at the time, I felt like I was witnessing something important, and learning about what was going on in the world. As I got older, I learned more about what it meant to be a broadcast journalist, and began to understand the hard work and dedication that goes into making a piece of ...

The general aspiration of Engineering is to improve the quality of life. It caters to innovative methods that aims to increase the productivity of both people and society. My fascination towards the field root from my desire to become a positive impact in society. I would like to see my ideologies someday turn into reality with the help of engineering concepts. My experience and familiarity with engineering fundamentals is a great asset for me. Although, the field is demanding and painstaking, what it offers me and society is worth all the challenges. I am particularly interested in aerospace engineering. My father, ...
My academic specialization is fuzzy logic, which isn’t logic that is fuzzy, but a worldview and method of thinking which is capable of coping with the world’s diversity. Traditional bivalent thinking, the belief that a proposition has only one truth value is, according to philosopher Mario Bunge, “primitive and inconsistent with how the social world is organized” (Winter, 2014). Most social phenomenon, including teaching, is not black and white, true or false, but full of interesting grey variables. I experience this when I’m teaching, because every student is different. My personal educational philosophy revolves around inclusion, and this ...
One of the worst and clearest memories of my life is the time when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. I will never forget my mother’s tears, her falling hair, my sister’s worries and my father’s fear. Still, we are happy to live in the time when breast cancer is considered a preventable disease by the intervention of different screening tools. So, I also remember the smiles and the clear relief my family members felt once everything was over. Now, every time I see a cancer case, I remember our story, which contributed greatly ...
“Without inspiration the best powers of the mind remain dormant.
There is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with sparks.”
Johann Gottfried Von Herder
There are two types of motivation in life based on internal and external factors. Fortunately for me, even though I was intrinsically motivated to pursue graduate study, my brother’s extensive years of experience in the financial services industry gave me the external spark that ignited action to move forward and achieve my goal.
When assessing my strengths and weaknesses to successfully earn a Master’s of Science in Finance degree at the University of Texas at Austin (UT), my strengths ...
Personal Statement: Reason for Wanting to Study Political Science
It is my affirmation that pursuing higher education which focuses on a specialized field of discipline is subject to defined personal and professional goals. There are various factors that provide the impetus for an individual’s interest in a particular academic endeavor. For me, I have always had a penchant for politics, forms of government, and the impact on societies. Various news all over the world have revealed that chaos and unrest exist due to failure of the governing power to heed the basic needs and demands of the citizenry. I have read stories of government leaders who were exiled, overthrown, and ...
“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
What will you do with your one wild and precious life?
I have always thought of life as of a colorful magazine — all you need to do is to leaf through it, and choose things you like the most. Perhaps, some people will not understand such an approach, and most of them do not; but I am confident that the Universe offers everyone myriad of possibilities, and we need to be brave enough to accept them. Having done much thinking, I came to the decision that I want my ...
I have grown up knowing that the world deserves intellectuals, individuals with the capacity to right the wrongs of society. Also, Elbert Hubbard once said, “There is no failure except in no longer trying”, (Hubbard). Having had the privilege of studying in three different countries, and at some point being home-schooled until age of 14, I feel like I have had tremendous experience as a traveler. My academic traveling was further heightened when I went to England as Exchange student for one year. During this period, I was living in a boarding house. It was an awesome experience to meet people ...
There has been ongoing debate regarding the effect of the globalization on the growth and development of the overall world. There are different views regarding the impact of the globalization; according to one school of thought globalization is beneficial for the overall economic development, whereas according to some people globalization results in negatively influencing the overall world. However, the best and most realistic stance in this regard is the middle position regarding the effect of globalization.
Globalization has changed the world in many ways; the environment of all the countries in the world has got the impact of ...

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Personal Statement
In the following words, I shall share what I have done in my life and what I hope to achieve in the future. I would also like to take some time and try to explain the driving force behind my aspirations and desires. It is my belief that my story, or for that matter anybody’s story, is incomplete without answering the question: why?
At a very young age I had this wish to be able to build a “life improver”; a tool or device that could help people enjoy a healthier, smarter and happier ...
The liberal arts teach a person how to think. The Liberal Studies Program at Villanova University can train me in a wide range of fields that I’m interested in learning about, while being close to the dynamism of Philadelphia. Courses such as the history of travel and tourism provide a fascinating look into diverse areas of human thought and behavior such as politics, anthropology, and art. This multi-disciplinary approach to the world has interested me for a long time now and Villanova offers the opportunity to expand my scope in an academically rigorous, but relatively small and intimate setting. Furthermore the scope ...
Each aspect of life and the application thereof is acquired via some form of education. A newborn infant cries out for its mother, learns her responses to instinctive demands, and thus will quickly formulate the knowledge of wants versus solutions. The young life develops its motor skills, initially applies them for the first steps, and then graduates to the upright gait to freely traverse any environment. In this way, the education process is applied and instilled in every life.
The diversity of language and its functional and often poetic usage define the varied world cultures. Each one is ...
For the past ten years, I have been immersing myself in the world of medicine and gaining a comprehensive education and roster of work experience. I have been published in the Journal of Infections Disease, and have presented case reports at the American College of Physician Regional Meeting of Southern California. During my residency training, any doubt I had about pursuing pulmonary and critical care medicine evaporated. Throughout my medical intensive care unit (MICU) rotations, I was ecstatic to see pathophysiology come to life and be utilized to care for the sickest patients in the hospital. I was fascinated by ...
My passion for medicine was developed through the hope of a young girl. “Put on the scrubs,” the Psychiatrist told me as we entered the sterile hospital room of a sixteen-year old girl. I stood next to the doctor as she talked to the girl, a girl whose face and body were so completely wrapped in gauze it would have been difficult for her to cry. “Will my skin go back to normal?” she asked. The physician answered honestly, “I do not know for sure, even though the flesh-eating bacteria that deprived you of your skin is gone, it could leave scarring--but ...
I believe medical school will give me the well-rounded education to fulfill my dream to become a Psychiatrist or Gynecologist. With the variety of programs, flexible schedules and affordable payments I will be able to pursue many options, but medical school is my dream and I believe medical school can make that dream a reality. To start experiencing the fun, yet academic, college experience, gaining knowledge and skills, and enhancing my career and professional life overall would mean the world to me. There are several things that shaped my decision to pursue my life long goal of practicing medicine; situations that ...
1. Please explain your interest in sending your son/daughter to Greenhill School.
Generally, Joyce is doing very well in the current school. However, I feel the overall environment in public school does not motivate kids to compete. I think we need to prepare kids to be more competitive in this global economy. I think a prestige school like Greenhill School can provide more challenges to her academically. I feel that Greenhill will give my daughter opportunities that would not have been available of receiving if he had attended a public school. Because I understand that private schools like Greenhill School ...

When I moved to the United States, I faced a number of challenges, ranging from learning English to adjusting to the new culture. It was difficult for me to express myself and communicate with my classmates and teachers. It was also challenging for me to keep up with the cultural values in my new environment. This experience affected my self esteem as I felt isolated and out of place. Nonetheless, I had a clear sense of identity, purpose and direction. I had come to the United States to pursue the creative and inquiring education that is available in this part of ...
