Introduction
A motion detector refers to a device that is used to detect objects on motion, specifically people. This device is sometimes integrated as a system component that performs a task automatically or alerts the user of any motion detected in an area. In addition, motion detectors are very important component of home control, security, energy efficiency, automated lighting control, and other vital systems. There are four different types of detectors/sensors that are used in a motion sensor spectrum, and they include passive infrared (PIR), Ultrasonic, Microwave and Tomographic motion detector.
The earlier designs were very unreliable. For example, the automatic sensor-based lighting would ...
Theory of mind is a phrase that was introduced by woodruff and Premack. The two carried some experimental to demonstrate that higher mental capacities are possible in nonhuman primates. Their initial experiment triggered other researchers to carry extensive research on ToM. Through these researches a number of definitions for Tom have been arrived. One such definition states that the theory of mind is the ability to conceptualize, to represent and to reason about the mental states. The theory of mind is simply the ability of an individual to inference what others may be feeling or thinking, and to predict their actions ...
Description of the theory
A theory is an ideology or system of ideas developed by an individual to explain a phenomenon. Symbolic interaction theory was established by sociologist known as George Herbert Mead, who up to date is considered one of the great sociologists on earth. This theory states that symbolic interaction is the process of the interaction information of meanings for individuals. He says that people tend to behave in a particular manner or act to a situation based on the symbolic meaning they relate to a situation. Meanings and symbols allow individual to carry out the distinctively human action (Herman 2003). The reason for people ...
Definition
Neurodevelopmental disorders are defined as impairments of the development and growth of the central nervous system or the brain (Reynolds and Goldstein, 1999 p.3). Neurodevelopmental disorders affect the brain’s function that deals with memory, the learning ability and emotions, and they become more intense as the individual grows (Reynolds and Goldstein, 1999 p. 4-8). Autism is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder distinguished by a range of impairments, including problems with communication (verbal and non-verbal) and any social interaction as well as behavioral problems (American Psychiatric Association, 2000). Individuals with autism find it difficult to process information, mainly due to changes in ...

The concept of Cottrell atmosphere is important to many aspects of material sciences and engineering. This was first proposed by Cottrell and Bilby in 1949 to explain the interaction of solute carbon atoms with defects in steel. The Cottrell atmospheres occur under the interaction between the dislocations and impurities (alloying elements) in matrix metal. These defects, like a dislocation, produce long-range elastic stress fields that distort the interstitial lattice site around the defect in the matrix. These distorted lattice sites then provide lower energy sites for the solute carbon to occupy, thus relieving some of the stress field. This raises ...

Down syndrome is one of the most common inherited syndromes, which causes intellectual disability. According to Selikowitz (2008), the disorder mostly affects males more than females and is the most prevalent chromosomal disorder. Incident rates range from 1 in 600 to1 in 1000 live births. For older mothers, incidence rates may be higher because of errors in reproductive cell division, which is caused by old age of egg cells. Down syndrome is a condition that develops at birth because of the abnormal development of the fetus. Misconceptions have arisen because of Down syndrome and people still try to understand what ...

Facebook has emerged as effective social network site that facilitates interaction and communication in great strides previously not experienced. However, this information spread and interaction that has overcome international barriers has equally been accompanied by a number of ethical concerns. In the recent history, Facebook has been misused with the organization failing to provide confidentiality and privacy to its users and accounts being accessed by unauthorized persons. In addition, cases of cyberbullying and pornographic literature sharing have also been experienced. It is on that premise that the paper recommends a number of security and confidentiality measures that Facebook needs to pursue.

Abstract
The experiment aimed at explaining the interaction of the molecules at different pressure, temperature and volumes. At low temperatures, the volume of the gas was low while at high temperatures, the volume of gas increased. The experiment successfully determined the value of absolute temperature using the Charles’s Law as 202.75OC which was lower than the theoretical value. The experiment also successfully verified the Boyle’s Law. The interaction of temperature and the volume of the fluid can be concluded to be directly proportional with an increase in temperature leading to increase in volume. On the other hand, the ...
Concept of Community
Introduction
In recent years, organizations that are of benefit to the community have been on the increase, which has been attributed to the different advantages that organizations have over others (Gardener & Fitzpatrick, 2003). These organizations are firmly based on the visions and goals that have been set by communities; thus benefiting the community in the long run. The organizations are considered to be of benefit to the community because they involve members of the community in their general planning and management (Diamond, 2001). Also, this helps to move the communities towards change that the people within the communities ...
Autism (at times called autism spectrum disorder) is a developmental disorder most commonly expressible in children below the age of three (Bertoglio & Hendren, 2009). One of the major characteristics of the disorder is impairment of one’s social interaction, communication as well as the exhibition of repetitive behaviors (Bertoglio & Hendren, 2009). Ideally the name of this disorder was educed form the Greek words aut which means self and ism which means state. Just like the term Autism implies (living by self), autistic children always like doing playing on their own while exhibiting the characteristics highlighted above. It is commonly hypothesized ...

Injuries in Sports
Background
In basket ball, the ankle and the knee stand out as some of the most commonly injured body parts perhaps due to the fact that the sport involves a lot of running and jumping which renders the sport one of the most dangerous. While running or jumping, the knee and the ankle are served with the responsibility of supporting a characteristic enormous amount of load. In this light, it is valid to say that the success of any athlete involved in basketball as a sport is overly dependent on his ability to avoid overloading the knee and the ankle, Common ...
There are many changes that can be seen between the DSM-IV and the DSM-V. One of the major changes is the difference in the symptoms. DSM-IV and DSM-V break apart the symptoms of Autism differently. This change is very important because it makes it seem like the new version of the DSM-V is more strict on the symptoms. This means that people may not be diagnosed with ASD as much as they were in the past because they will need to show more symptoms.
One of the major differences between the old and the new DSM is that ...
Appropriateness of different kinds of conceptual models
This report will compare models in personal paper based calendar versus digital diary, and shared paper based wall planner versus shared web based calendar. An analysis of the listed models will also be carried out.
Paper based calendar versus digital calendar
In distinguishing the two calendars, the metaphors and concepts that have been used in designing the models include objects, properties, representation, access methods (Rovers, Sharp, & Preece, 2011). In the case of paper based calendar, the objects, which are appointments are not described but can be marked by highlighting dates. Digital calendars are different where appointments are described. Time, a property, is conceptualized differently in ...

Introduction
The term ‘social robot’ has become popular in the modern world and is almost being integrated into the modern day cultural constructs as usual. Lamers & Verbeek (2010) maintain that social technology is meant to invoke emotional attributes and to engage the human mind in a way that exceeds what is physical. Lamers & Verbeek (2010) argue that a robot is man’s effort at recreating his own self and it is with this semblance that the conceptualization of human-robot interaction has been captured. Dating back from the 18th century, inventors and scientists alike have been making numerous attempts at making ...
Designing human-computer interface is delicate and requires a high understanding of the needs of the user and proper analysis of system functionalities (Schneidermann, 2010, 45-223). In the context of design, artifacts are typically created to serve particular purposes within the area of application and also meet the expectation. To achieve the goals of the design, it is important for designers to deploy heuristic evaluation so as to find out what best fits the users (Kolko, 2010, 25-30). In the contemporary world, several artifacts have been designed and continue to earn plaudits for their fulfillment of user needs. The artifact ...

Abstract
Marketing strategies have recently changed based on the emergence of more cost-effective as well as diverse digital channels of marketing. Traditionally, marketing entailed “P” strategies that did not play any meaningful role in the establishment and maintenance of customer-company relationships. Indeed, traditional marketing strategies are considered to be based on assumptions that: Customers ought to avoid the responsibility of making decisions; customers are often passive and ought to be pushed as a result; customers often have great difficulties in the learning process; and that customers rarely use – or do not use at all – imagination. These general assumptions normally create a “push-based” ...

Psychology:
We have heard the saying that Children are our future; young children are the future of any nation. While this is true it is equally true that what we are as children affects our adulthood. What we experience, feel and give vent to as children go a long way into defining our behaviour as adults. When we move and evaluate this point from a more psychological point of view and as a study in behavioural psychology, we see that the same experiences can manifest as disruptive behaviour. In the study of psychology, disorders in children are studied from the standpoint of neurological ...

Objective of civic engagement: manifestation of democracy through the ballot
As a primary step towards my Project, I started with the topic of maximizing civic engagement related to the involvement of education and direct interaction with the electorate. The importance of the topic came from the fact that there has to be mass voting to ensure a clearer picture of the democratic choice. The electorate is a significant factor for not only deciding their governing representatives but also in shaping the public stand towards the formation of the right government. Hence, there has to be a vigilance or awareness drive for the voters of the region so that they ...

Brands have existed since ancient times, as evidenced by the fact that individuals have always used unique marks to distinguish their products from those produced by other individuals. However, the main reason for branding in ancient times was to prevent the theft of property. Despite the origins of branding, its main purpose shifted to enhancing the visibility of products as humans engaged in increased commercial activity with each other (Hampf and Lindberg-Repo, 2011, p. 1). Consequently, the concept of brand development arose. Brand development refers to the efforts taken to increase the success of a brand in the market ...

Phosphorus and Nitrogen Limitation on Plants Growth
Introduction
Plant growth and development rely on multiple environmental factors that include light intensity, temperature, water availability and vital minerals and nutrients. During the insufficiency of exogenous resources, plants maintain this imbalance through allocating the new biomass to that organ which specifically needs that insufficient nutrient (Hermans et al., 2006). Nutrients like nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) play significant roles in a plant life. They influence various metabolic factors of plant life through cooperating with each other such as in biomass distribution as well as regulating chlorophyll A and B levels.
The objective of this experiment is to understand ...

According to the Mauborgne and Kim, this strategic policy enhanced the value of a business by increasing the values foe employees and customers. They further explain that the strategy helps in exploring the new potential markets. In this way, a business enjoys a monopoly in the newly discovered market, as there are no ...
