Augustine’s evaluation of his own conduct starts from his childhood memories. He describes his childhood as a period where he was fascinated about learning and trying to understand the speech of his parents. He continues by giving an account of his boyhood then later his adolescent stage. Importantly, was an incident where he stole a fruit, and it remains in his head as an excellent example of malice. Discovering myself as an authentic leader, and in fact taking necessary steps to ensure that I live up to my dream as a true leader has not been easy. To understand the meaning of an authentic leader, it is important to understand the term leader. According to my understanding, a term leader simply means someone who shows or leads the path, that is, someone who is strong enough to motivate and guide others to do the right things. Leaders easily get others engaged in a project, which they believe in.
An authentic leader is more than just an engagement in leadership. Unlike other ...

Theory of mind is a phrase that was introduced by woodruff and Premack. The two carried some experimental to demonstrate that higher mental capacities are possible in nonhuman primates. Their initial experiment triggered other researchers to carry extensive research on ToM. Through these researches a number of definitions for Tom have been arrived. One such definition states that the theory of mind is the ability to conceptualize, to represent and to reason about the mental states. Since the beginning of time, social stigma has been an issue of humanity. It is no longer new to see news of discrimination against people who are considered different in terms of ethnicity, religious beliefs, and culture. Defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as “a set of negative and often unfair beliefs that a society or group of people have about something”, stigma is not limited only to the aforementioned gauges because disrespect against and dishonor of persons with mental illnesses is becoming common these days. In fact, “. . .some diagnoses are controversial and there is much concern in the mental health field ...

Literature Review
Psychologists have previously considered societal norms, behaviors, attitudes, communication of knowledge and observations made by others as determinants of intergroup beliefs. Several studies have provided support for this premise. These studies have demonstrated that there exists consensus among the stereotypical beliefs of different individuals. These studies also showed that prejudice and stereotyping result from clearly defined and established group norms. The studies also found that racial attitudes of different individuals differ depending on the societal norms professed in the immediate environment. This shows that individuals exhibit relatively favorable intergroup attitudes that are dependent in the beliefs ...

Social consensus information is one of the things that have influence on inter-group attitudes. However, the most essential thing is that there is a significance of the way in which individuals get into the group that provides the consensus information. Ideally the term consensus means a collective idea or opinion about specific times. To insist on the need to have a consensus, it is determined at making the general agreement (Sechrist, 2007). This report aims at making detailed analysis about the social consensus information and the level at which it can cause can influence the humanitarian help. The research from which this ...

When Pope John Paul XXIII proclaimed there would be a Vatican Council in January of 1959, he set the world on its heels. John Paul had only been elected three months prior to his announcement and there had not been a council of this nature in nearly a century. Its purpose was for the Church to possibly embrace a path that much was much more in keeping with modern day society rather than relying on the previous trail of a literal interpretation of the Bible.
Held in St. Peter’s Basilica on October 11, 1962, the conclave hosted up to 2,500 bishops, ...

Social interaction is apparent in almost all aspects of daily living, whether a teacher talking to his students or a car salesman selling the latest car model to an eager client. Abnormality is a physical malformation or deviation from the typical behavior. Different backgrounds such as religions, cultures and ages lead to abnormal behavior. Personality of one self is what shapes behavior. Though cultural around a person also facilitates and affects a person to start with abnormal behavior no matter the age or religion of the person. The process of differentiating abnormal and normal behavior must take into account in cultural relativism. For my development action plan, I will focus on the development of my leadership skills, which is one of the people skills. According to Adair (2007), leadership skills are now universally considered the most important ingredient in management where being a good manager is synonymous to being a good leader and vice versa. These skills help achieve organizational goals and maximize efficiency (Management Study Guide 2013). More specifically, these skills allow a leader to effectively initiate actions; motivate the employees; and provide guidance, create confidence, and build the morale of the subordinates. In addition, these skills enable a leader to build a conducive work ...

promissory estoppels in Business contracts
Introduction
Miller (2013, p. 173) stated that the doctrine of promissory estoppel also known as “detrimental reliance”, shall give any person who has reasonably and substantially relied on the promise of another to acquire some measure of recovery. At present time, the doctrine of promissory estoppel has been used in different contexts by the court that allowed the recovery of a promise despite lack consideration on the promissor. The doctrine enabled the court to enforce an unenforceable promise that will prevent the miscarriage of justice to those who suffered losses and damages. In order for the ...

Reincarnation seems to be a common believe in the society especially western society. Human beings have developed a desire to continue looking for the answers about the life they live and afterlife. However, different religions facilitate the views in different ways. For instance, Hinduism has brought a significant influence in the society than any other religion, excluding Christianity. The pantheism views that, there is a god in nature, who lives among us and among all creatures living in land, water and in air. Other religions that are associated with this belief include Buddhism and Sikhism. I believe that this belief has caused a noticeable ...

Mary Rowlandson had a particularly difficult experience in maintaining her Puritanism and womanhood, as she was captured by Indians and lived with them for some time. Her experiences, as depicted in the narrative itself, directly challenge Puritan religious beliefs, as well as her understanding of her moral superiority over the Indians who capture her. Mary believes that God has a central role in her life, due to her Puritanism, and so she believes that there is a reason that she was attacked and captured. The book itself informs us of the Puritans' belief in the supremacy of God, particularly through Mary's examinations ...
Summary
In Desserud's article "The Governor General, the Prime Minister and the Request to Prorogue," the author looks at the events that led to the eventual prorogation of parliament in Canada in 2009, stemming from Steven Harper (Canada's PM) and his decision to prorogue. The Governor General's choice to accept the prorogation is also examined. In essence, Desserud argues that the Governor General accepted the request by the prime minister because it was the only option that she could take; it was a controversial decision, but one that was absolutely necessary and constitutional. This is meant to deal with the controversy ...

Religion plays a significant role in the life of an individual as well as the World as a whole. There are some religions in the world namely Christianity, Islam and Hinduism which are being followed by the largest numbers of people globally. But being followed by a bigger community does not alone decide the significance of a religion. There are numerous other religions like Buddhism, Judaism, Jainism, and Sikhism and so on which are prominently shaping up millions of beliefs. And there are religious movements as well. Sahaja Yoga is not a well-defined religion but definitely a major religious movement. This essay deals with illumining ...

Leadership is a process by which an individual influences others to achieve a common objective and leads the organization in a manner that makes it more coherent and cohesive. On the other hand, a leader is an individual who directs or guides others. Good leaders are not born but are made. Therefore, everyone can become an effective leader if he or she has got willpower and desire to become an authentic leader. Outstanding leaders develop through a process of training, education, self-study and experience, a process that never ends. In order for an individual to be able to inspire his or her employees into higher ...
I think that leadership is the ability to inspire and enable a group of people to achieve a common goal. However, even as a good leader allows group members to contribute in their own ways, he or she still remains responsible and accountable for the group as a whole and for providing the group with the necessary guidance that will enable them to cope with the changes that may occur as they try to achieve their goal (Farid Dadashev,2007, http://mba.yale.edu/index.shtml).
That said, leadership is something that should be taken seriously. Although it can be adventurous and fun to be a leader, it should ...

What I liked about the book
A part from being so informative, Judgment in Managerial Decision Making by Max. H. Bazerman, is a very interesting book. This is why many people, besides recommending it to others, regard it as a must read. However, when I was reading it, I was captivated by the following concepts:
First, it was so interesting to learn that many people fail to make well thought decisions due to their personality. As Max argues, they fail in realizing their aims due to bias. Their attitudes heavily influence their stand on various problems that need to be resolved. Moreover, many people, in their ...
Advertising
Advertising is a public relations’ function through which practitioners place information, commercial messages in media, for reaching their audience. The company that places the message (or the public relations agency that places the information for its client) purchases advertising space and time in specific types of media, identified as relevant for the targeted audience, meaning that the targeted audience is exposed to the specific media in which the messages are placed. Hence, this is a controlled manner for distributing a message to the audience, as the sponsor directly inserts the add in the chosen media.

The Stand Your Ground Law as the law that governs issues and legal position with regard to self-defense. The general definitions of the law covers two basic perspectives, that is, one, that there is practical believe or certain threat to an individual and that secondly, that the option or obligation to retreat is beyond the individual. The legal concepts as provided by the Stand your ground law allows an individual to use lethal force and at the same time act as immunity or a basis for defense against criminal charges. Goodnough, (2005) argues that legal aspects as provided by the ...
Book Report: Who Moved My Cheese?
The book is about managing change. It is a reflection of the saying ‘change is the only constant in life’. The book describes changes that take place in one’s life and work, and the different ways to react to it. It asserts that the onus lies on individuals to adapt to change, learn to be flexible, and develop an attitude to view change as a new opportunity. The author uses simple metaphors like cheese and mice to explain the concept of change and ways to deal with it, at work and in life. In the book, cheese represents those things ...
Facts and information concerning daylight are not known by many due to the simple reason that light forms part and parcel of our daily operations and as a result we pretend to know everything about it. This has resulted to the assumption of many important facts in relation to light. There area many books, especially the ancient books, which give extensive information on light and early innovations that were associated with it.
The use of light for commercial gain began as early as 1770s. It was used especially on photography and film shooting. It is important to note that ...

Cases have been reported whereby people are seen are to agree with the general thinking of the group they are in, for example when a propaganda starts out in a group it is accepted by everyone of the group even when basic logic shows that the basis of the ideology is misplaced or wrong. Leadership is a very popular topic today and it has always remained an important part of human existence. Despite the fact, that not so many concepts have changed since the tribal and warrior times, the art and science of leadership is re-discovered to correspond to the modern environment. Researchers and practitioners clearly distinguish between leadership and management. Leadership is about managing energy, first in yourself and then in those around you. (Clawson, 2006). A true leader is able to engage people, navigate the way and encourage potential.
An example of an inspiring leader is Richard Branson, a CEO of Virgin Group ...
I. Introduction of the religion
I am particularly fascinated by the religion Buddhism and this report is about this significant world religion. Talking about Buddhism, one is reminded of zen. It is a perfect state of peace and I relate it to the experience of being with God or seeing God. The most fascinating thing about Buddhism is that is represents the most graphic state of this bliss. The controversy here lies in the practical sense that Buddhism does not believe in the existence of God. According to Keown (2000), the Buddhists do not believe in a Supreme Being or in a personal soul. In this religion, ...

In project and procurement management there is involvement of groups to solve a problem and to come up with a theory that will generate ideas. Problem solving in groups is a complex procedure involving numerous techniques. In project and procurement management, problems are vast and complex hence the reason for systematic techniques to solve them. Therefore the techniques to be used result in: diverse viewpoints bringing various aspects of the problem; viable ideas as a result of people interaction; and creating innovative and new ideas (Kemp, 2004). This paper will highlight two techniques—brainstorming and Delphi—with a view of comparing them and showing ...
In Athanasius’ On the Incarnation of the Word, Athanasius speaks of Christ as a figure who was intended to provide salvation to all, and restore harmony to humanity. Christ was an incarnation of the Word of God, and therefore, he was God. First, Athanius discusses the fact that Man is made in God’s image. Man is connected very strongly to the word of God, particularly through its incarnation into Jesus Christ. At the same time, man quickly turned to sin and debauchery, due to a rejection of the contemplation of God.
This led to a marring of God’s name, it ...
Historical Theology
Religion has been for a very long time in a very difficult situation to discern what is good and what is bad, in real sence there is no bad or good thing, to me it depends with how one understands his real self and his relationship with our heavenly father who is absolute and unchanging. Some philosophers and great sages have tried to explain this.
