Also different modes of transportation and their fuel types are reported upon as compared to passenger activity and energy use. According to the calculations the use of ...
The Carbon Tax Scheme (CTS) is an indirect tax levied on users of fossil fuel and was implemented in January 2012. The Carbon Tax is based on the Economic Principle of Negative Externalities. Negative externalities are costs to the society that is created when goods and services are produced. The negative effects of these activities are shouldered by the society so payment for that cost from the parties that are liable is widely believed to be the appropriate approach for managing it. In the case of fossil fuel use, users of electricity from these sources are taxed based on ...

Use of Fossil Fuels for Power Generation and the Need for Renewable Energy
According to Nelson (2011), more than 85% of the world’s energy consumption, which is estimated at 520 exajoules, is generated through the burning of fossil fuels such as petroleum, natural gas and coal (p.19). Electric power generation from non-renewable sources will, unequivocally, result in their exhaustion and creation of a major energy crisis. For this reason, it appears primordial to shift in a greater scale to alternate power generation, such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, etc. Amongst these, Sorensen (2011) explains that though hydroelectric power does represent one of the major forms of power generation, its growth is stagnant ...

Abstract
The most widely used fossil fuel around the world is coal. This is a component that carries both organic and inorganic components and hence its combustion over the years has led to environmental problems such as acid rain and sulfur dioxide emission. To combat this eco-system problem several combustion methods have been introduced and one of the most efficient means that has come to the attention over the years as a significant way is the Oxy alkalinolysis.
In the past, there have been various desulfurization processes, which have been introduced. However, most of them have not given excellent results are ...
The rocks beneath have rich deposits of oil and gases that can be purified to supplement the energy requirements. Several researches are done to establish the sites with considerable quantities of oil or gas and sometimes the presence of both. Once this is established, a number of factors are considered in the underground environment to establish the safety precautions and the nature of the extraction procedure to be used. The principle behind oil and gas extraction relies on the accumulation of pressure in the underlying rocks. The processes are divided into three basic extraction levels, primary, secondary and enhanced recovery ...

While, apparently, almost everyone in the world admits that the environment should be treated more responsibly, not many people act accordingly. As the story with EU carbon tax shows, not only does it apply to individuals, but also to the whole countries – even (or first of all) the most influential ones in the world. EU carbon tax for airlines, if signed, would oblige airline, whose flights cross EU airspace, to pay a tax on carbon emissions proportionally to the volumes of emissions – that is what European airlines do. The world immediately forgot about its environment-wise consciousness and objected the law. ...

Greenhouse gases are those gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. Several chemical compounds in the earth’s atmosphere are greenhouse gases. They allow sunlight to pass through them into the surface of the earth. This light is reflected form the surface back towards the space in the form of infrared radiations or heat. The greenhouse gases absorb these radiations and trap the heat in the atmosphere. After some time, the amount of energy sent from the sun to the surface becomes equal to the energy radiated back into the atmosphere. This process leaves the temperature of the surface ...
