1. Between 1990 and 2010, while the monetary base soared, the money supply did not rise in a similar proportion. Concurrently, there was a decline in the money multiplier, which dropped sharply by 50% during the financial crisis in 2007-08. The reason the monetary base rose beyond the money supply could be attributed to the trends displayed by the Currency to Deposit Ratio (C/D) and the Excess Reserves to Deposit Ratio (ER/D) in the same timeframe. The currency to deposit ratio, while rising in the 90s, fell during the financial crisis of 2007-8 as households preferred to hold checkable ...

Background Information on Supply & Demand
Background Information on Supply & Demand
Market attractiveness can be characterized by the interactions between inner motivations of buyers and manufacturers, as well as price and quantity for a product determined by the external market forces. Basically, the price reflects and channels the motives and desires of the potential consumers. Supply and demand are considered the fundamental principles of the market economy. Demand explains the necessary amount of a product desired by consumers. Supply represents the volumes of production the market can handle. The balance between price and volumes of production is known as the supply relationship. Meanwhile, price is ...

The subject of this study concerns some of the most serious pavement deficiencies: alligator cracking, bleeding, and potholes. Alligator cracking and potholes can often shorten the pavement’s lifespan. Bleeding more often impacts road safety; bleeding causes reduced friction which, in turn, can cause skidding for drivers. The case study focuses on alligator cracking, potholes, and bleeding in an effort to explain their impact on pavement, as well as how they are remedied. In an effort to better understand the detriment these issues cause, a local two-lane road was studied for evidence of distress and damage.

Abstract
Flexible pavement distresses are caused by poor design, wear and tear, and traffic loading beyond design capacity. The amount of loading that a pavement can bear without failure is determined by the strength of the subgrade and the surface layer. Pavement failures are of eight major types; potholes, bleeding, alligator cracking, rutting, shoving, depression, block cracking, and longitudinal cracking. Each pavement distress has causal gents and repair methods defined by local and international codes. This report shall focus on bleeding, potholes, and alligator failure.
Introduction
Potholes, bleeding, and alligator cracking which are the subject of this case study are some of ...

The capability of substances to react is directly related to their solubility. The reactions with insoluble salts are performed only on their surface. Therefore, the formation of new substances is limited. The living organisms are able to absorb the compound only from water solution, i.e. most of the insoluble compounds are inert for living organisms. The industrial-scale reactions are also performed in solutions (Myers 130). Hence, understanding the solubility and its characteristics is important for the qualified specialist.
During the lab, the reactions with different substances are realized. The qualitative characteristic of the solubility, the solubility product constant (Awonusi ...

Knowledge of how rapidly reaction proceeds is among the most important for practice in chemistry and chemical engineering. We often use casual descriptions of reaction rate such as “slow” or “fast” in our lives, however, such information can be scarcely enough for practical and industrial applications, such as running a chemical plant, for example. While there is a huge spectrum of the reaction rates that are present in nature – from the extremely slow steel oxidation to extremely rapid gas combustion, the quantitative measure is needed to compare them practically. For a general reaction in solution:
the kinetic rate expression ...

Abstract
Animals whose body temperatures are affected by their surroundings are said to be ectothermic. If an ectothermic organism is exposed cold conditions, the heart rate of the animal lowers. In high temperatures the heart rate of the animal is very high. Caffeine being a stimulant works by causing the nervous system to work faster. It further leads to the constriction of the blood vessels. The Daphnia magna sometimes referred to as the water flea lives in the fresh waters. It is an exothermic crustacean. The results of Table one shows that Daphnia’s heart rate lowers as temperatures the temperatures ...
Chemical equilibrium refers to the condition that occurs when the both the concentration of the reactant and product in a chemical reaction have not net change over time (Helmenstine). There are many chemical reactions that do not go on to completion. These reactions go on until equilibrium is attained. However, the system at this point is not static but dynamic with the forward and the reverse reactions still in progress. Equilibrium reactions are very common throughout chemistry, and most of the biochemical processes taking place in life involve equilibria.
One useful feature of an equilibrium reaction is the fact ...
