In Athanasius’ On the Incarnation of the Word, Athanasius speaks of Christ as a figure who was intended to provide salvation to all, and restore harmony to humanity. Christ was an incarnation of the Word of God, and therefore, he was God. First, Athanius discusses the fact that Man is made in God’s image.
