Introduction
Geothermal energy refers to natural heat stored underground beneath the earth’s crust. On the ground surface the energy is evident in form of hot and altered ground, hot springs and fumaroles. The energy is tapped by sinking geothermal wells underground. The high temperature and pressure fluid is extracted and through carefully built wells and designed network of pipes and channels the hot steam to the plant turbine to generate electricity.
