Abstract
Notably, interracial couples and their families have faced various challenges including rejection and being stereotyped. These challenges have resulted in increased trauma and developmental delays among interracial people. The most common misperception about interracial couples is that one partner is black while the other one is white. The rate at which interracial marriages are growing in the US has increased steadily. Considering that the United States legalized interracial marriages, a high growth rate in interracial marriage is a significant move. The demand for interracial counseling is expected to rise as the number of multicultural couples increase.
