Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) refers to a mental health condition, which is often triggered by a terrifying event experienced or witnessed by a person who develops the condition (Thomas, 2011). In essence, an individual who develops the condition (PTSD) may suffer because he or she was the one who received the harm or the harm was on a loved one or the person in question was just a witness of a terrifying occurrence as stated earlier.
