The poor have always had to struggle throughout the generations. Often marginalized, the poor are whittled-down to a statistic. The poor represent different things to different people. Poor women, in particular, often find themselves with limited incomes, single parent responsibilities, low employment levels, and a need to receive aid from state and county welfare programs.
