For a long time, biomaterial research has focused on the development of synthetic materials for use in reconstructive bone surgeries. Biomaterial research has aided and made possible the total knee replacement surgery. Even though many techniques have made anthroplasty possible, polymers are the recommended materials. A background research on Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) portrays it as the best material for knee reconstruction; this paper explains its suitability. It will be an improved knee replacement technique.
