Drowning in Debt: How Does the U.S. Solve its Debt Crisis?
Scott Walterhoefer
Abstract
Can the United States solve its debt crisis? That is the daunting question that currently confronts our nation and the manner in which the “powers that be” attempt to deal with this problem will dictate the political and economic landscape for the foreseeable future. The sheer size of this debt (roughly $16 trillion) is so massive and seemingly out of control that it is nearly impossible to fathom. This paper will examine this debt and the factors that caused its exponential rise over ...

Government spending encompasses all the country’s consumption and investment. It however excludes a country’s transfer payments. Basically, any country’s spending is funded by the taxes or country’s borrowing. Excessive government spending is thus a situation where a country spends more than it invests. When a gap exists between federal government’s spending and how it collects its tax, the country is likely to undergo excessive government spending. A likely consequence of excessive government spending is the debt crisis which may stem from its poor control of amount of tax receipts annually. This thus typifies uncontrolled spending.
Excessive government ...

1 Introduction
Non-Governmental Organizations or NGOs have become influential actors of societal development and change on a national as well as international scale. Beginning as non-governmental consultants to the United Nations, the number of NGOs across the world has witnessed exponential growth since the 1980s. Although most people understand what an NGO is - the name itself makes it very clear that these are organizations that are not government run – there is little consensus on what may be described as key characteristics of an ...
Abstract
Can female participation in the labor force contribute to economic growth? Is there a causal relationship between female participation in the labor force and economic growth? This paper addresses these questions using the vector error correction model. For this study, an annual time series data for the period 1970 to 2012 for the United States has been used. The results show that there exists a co-integration between female participation and GDP per capita, which is a proxy measure for economic development. The result does not support a two-way causality between the variables. However, a causality running from GDP per ...

According to Bastelaer (1997), there is no clear definition of a part time job. This is because definitions of part time job are based on either threshold hours or the assessment on the nature of the job, or a combination of the two. Further, threshold number of hours have not been specific, some consider the threshold number of hours to be thirty and others consider the threshold number of hours to be thirty five (Bastelaer 23).
On the other hand, part time work may be defined according to industrial instrument. In this case, part time work is defined as that work ...

As myriad of changes continue being experienced in the health sector, several challenges prevent effective implementation of healthcare services. These challenges include limitation in healthcare services, inefficient skills, unskilled personnel, poverty and huge gap between the number of skilled healthcare providers and number of patients seeking services. These problems further intensify in rural areas whereby the distance between patients and healthcare facilities prevent timely access to healthcare. This explains why several federal policies target problems facing the rural poor. Studies further show that more than 15 percent of healthcare beneficiaries reside in rural areas (Thrall, 2012). These patients depend ...

SB 4 is the first California law to address the issue of hydraulic fracturing or fracking for natural gas in California. The fracking method had been used in California for several years without any regulation (Freyman, 2014, p. 59). Therefore, the research studied the possible reasons the issue became a part of public conversation, and finally reached the agenda setting level of the California legislature. And, only that, the issue became law in California. Well simulation is the term used in SB 4 to describe three types of the procedure hydraulic fracturing, acid matrix stimulation, ...

The economic objectives of every nation are stabilization of the economy, keeping the level of inflation and unemployment below the target rate (Carbaugh, 2012, p.481). All of the governments pursue these goals given the large abundance of external factors that affect the macroeconomic policies of the state. The main concepts for the determination of economic growth are of course the growth of Gross Domestic Product, which is comprised of Aggregate ...

American history is not marked by heavenly lifestyle, but it’s filled with violence and conflicts. One of the major issues that challenge America's democratic setup is their ethnic diversity. After the civil war, the ethnic divisions continued among people and this time the conflicts are based on immigrants. The tensions surrounding immigration peaked from 1875 to 1930 where the US governments during that period came up with so many legislations in swift response to these tensions. In this assignment, we would analyse the important events of immigration between 1875-1930 that caused major tensions and how the US governments ...

Nature, the environment and the universe as a whole, provided a huge influence on mankind for a long time. It was particularly pronounced prior to the active development of technical progress. Japanese culture can be considered as one of the brightest representatives of such influence. It is a multi-faceted, surprising and unusual world of images and objects. Everything is living his own life in harmony with the surrounding space. Japanese style evolved over the centuries. Now it is an excellent example of the preservation of a constant shape in combination with the cycle of patterns and colors.

When the concept of green building emerges, environmentalists and researchers automatically assume the solutions lie on materials and their constituencies in buildings they are part of and the lifetime of the building. Exterior material directly in contact with the environment and natural elements may enhance the sustainability of the building, but may greatly impact the functions of nearby ecosystems. Hence building sustainability and environmental maintenance are not exactly interchangeable, and yet these terms are often utilized mistakenly. The pioneers of environmental constructs are not confirmed, although architectural historians suggest they date back prior to Ancient Roman times. Architects took ...
Developing a model of brand personality in Sport Industry
Organised competitions such as sporting events have been meaningful and important cultural components of essentially every civilization that has existed throughout history. In an effort to capitalize on this ubiquity, sports media and marketing have been used to connect with customers for nearly as long as sport itself has existed, in one form or another.
People have been engaged in different activities that may be associated with and classified as organized sports competitions for hundreds of years. One of the first examples of modern sports marketing involved tobacco cards featuring popular baseball players of the 1870s .

The purpose of this research is to analyze the process creating, SB 4, the legislation on hydraulic fracking as an opportunity to understand how and why the fracking issue gained enough momentum to reach the level of legislative decision. Policies that reach the decision-making level on a legislative agenda have been driven to that level by internal and external factors of the government (Kingdon, 1995). The factors and actors that worked together to put ‘fracking’ on the agenda of the California Assembly and Senate are interesting because of the wide range of opinions held by the proponents ...

The study includes two sets of mini-modules. Each set has 9 PV modules tilted at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 23, 30, 33 and 40o. The first set called "Cleaned" was cleaned every other day. ...
Abstract
This research proposal outlines measures to be undertaken in exploring the unintended consequences of unemployment. The researcher wishes to advance the assumption that unemployment is inevitably linked to serious economic and social dysfunctions occurring within the confines of Social Structure. Many of these irregularities are obvious, but others are rather insidious and concealed. Together they define the unintended consequences of unemployment. Unintended consequences of unemployment from the perspective of this researcher embodies a conceptual framework explaining all psychosocial factors, medical elements and subsequent descriptive emergent variables that adequately represent a sequel of events for which unemployment is inevitably the underlying force. ...
