Abstract Alfred Lord Tennyson was perhaps the greatest poet of the nineteenth century Victorian era. While ‘In Memoriam,’ was written in honor of his best friend who died at a young age, some of his other famous works included ‘Ulysses,’ and ‘Morte d’ Arthur,’ which were again written in memory of his fond friend. The tones of these poems are nostalgic and reflect the mood and sentiments of a poet who had witnessed the unceremonious arrival of death from the outside.
