Introduction
Metacognition can simply be phrased as “cognition of cognition”. It is the “knowing of one’s knowing” or the process one uses to assess their learning process. The idea of metacognition was first developed by an American psychologist John H. Flavell in 1979. Flavell assessed the human’s ability to manage, store, retrieve and search information within their memory. He concluded that humans are able to use metacognition mode to acquire knowledge on oral skill, reading, mastery, writing, attention, social interaction and education.
