The objectification of women in cheerleading has been noted in many several news materials, research articles and online blogs. Women are presented in scantily clad clothes and are assigned to dance in provocative ways to ensure that audience is entertained. Overtime objectification of women and their body parts in cheerleading groups leads to women developing self-objectification traits.
