INTRODUCTION
A Director at the University of Georgia Atmospheric Sciences Program posed a question during an interview with the Ebony magazine “Why African American girls May Be Left Out of the 21st Century Job Market”. The answers to the question seem to be glaring simple and complicated at the same time. African Americans, especially girls in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), continue to record decreasing numbers careerwise.
