Abstract
The rate of gun possession in the U.S has increased progressively since 2011 as gun holders have continued to purchase various weapons. The universities and institutions of higher learning have not been left behind. Twenty-three State administrations in 2011 deliberated on bills to allow the carrying of weapons at their public establishments of higher education, and several public institutions in at least six nation-states at present allow firearms on university grounds or in the buildings.
