Abstract
Using the regression equation and given values of independent variables, we estimated the elasticity of each of them and ascertained that the product is highly elastic to price levels and therefore, the firm can consider to decrease the price levels in order to increase their market share. At the same time, cross elasticity and income elasticity were also significant in relation to the demand of the product, although advertisement expenditure has negligible impact on the product’s demand. Hence, own price, price of related goods and income of consumer are three major factors which the firm should incorporate while ...

There are times when a nursing problem arises as a result of a number of findings, and these findings are pulled together into a summary in order to see the big picture created out of these findings. This act of pulling together is what Brown & Ochs (2018) calls a systematic research review (SRR) or systematic review, which helps researchers identify “what is known with certainty, what is tentatively known, and what the gaps in knowledge are regarding an issue” (p.175). It serves as a link between the individual studies performed and the decision making done in order to create ...

Is Hand washing more effective in Infection Reduction versus Gel Hand Sanitizers?
Introduction
Today, the burden of health care-associated infections (HCAIs) are drawing attention not only from governments and health care regulatory bodies but also from patients and more so from health care practitioners (HCPs) themselves. This phenomenon is not merely because of the magnitude of the problem regarding the associated incidences of mortality, cost, and complexity of treatment, and morbidity, but also due to the growing recognition and understanding that, most of these complications are preventable. The medical fraternity is thus witnessing in tandem unprecedented improvements in the spread ...

The modern business environment is influenced by globalization and international mobility of individuals. As a result, companies demand more focus on diversity and leadership capabilities to manage professionally and personally diverse groups, communication and the conflict of interest, which may arise from the polarization of opinions. While companies provide internal training in face-to-face as well as virtual environments, there is an opportunity to improve the outcomes of diversity training by implementing an integrated training seminar, involving the practical and theoretical exercises and workshops with individuals from different companies and sectors. This cross-functional and cross-sectorial groups can significantly benefit in ...
Lab report: electrical conductance
Lab report: electrical conductance
Introduction
Electrical conductance is the property of an electrical conductor that determines how fast it contacts – how easily current flows through it (Shaw, 1911, p. 281). When a potential difference is applied across various types of conductors, current flows through the conductors at different rates. The rate at which the current flows through a particular conductor for a particular potential difference is dependent on the specific property of the conductor, referred to as electrical conductance. Conductance determines how well current flows through a particular conductor. Conductance is the inverse (reciprocal) of the property of the conductor ...

Hypothesis: Intelligence is not genetically inherited. Intelligence has less to do with genetics than with the socio-cultural environment in which a person has grown. The rise of genetics gave people a chance to prove that intelligence is genetically inherited. However, deep studies suggest otherwise. It is the environment and availability of resources that shape the intelligence of an individual. If people who are considered non-intelligent, are provided the same educational opportunities and social environment, then their display of intelligence will be on par with other people who developed in the same environment. Turkheimer and co-researchers (623) in their article ...

In more ways than one, the conceptualized constructs demarcating the means by which money exchange takes place within the contemporary world economy are profuse than they might actually appear. The ideology of a contemporary capitalism culture can be split two ways; the thinking of a financializer versus that of a technologist. This paper will take on a triangulation approach at trying to deconstruct the ideals of contemporary capitalism. By cross-referencing different theorizations, the two loudly acclaimed arrangements of abstraction – financialization and technological abstraction – shall be extrapolated and used to establish the actual stand concerning the doctrine of capitalism today.

Introduction
The financial crisis of 2007/9 was the worst in the U.S. since the Great Depression of the 1930s. It was the cause of the failure of some of the biggest financial institutions including Washington Mutual which was closed in 2008, and its assets transferred to JP Morgan. In 2008, the crisis reached its peak with loans dropping dramatically to the lowest levels to be witnessed in a half a century. For example, new loans to large borrowers fell by 47 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008 as compared to the previous quarter and by 79 percent relative to ...
Various concepts are crucial in conducting and understanding test statistics. For a scholar or even a social worker to understand how the test statistics are applied in the assessment process, an in-depth understanding of interpretation of test data comes in handy (Neukrug & Fawcett, 2013). The four factors of test worthiness that are accorded ultimate attention are validity, reliability, cross-cultural fairness and practicality. Validity entails investigating the test statistics to ensure they measure what they are supposed to measure. It is often imperative that the accumulated evidence support the intended interpretation and purpose of the test scores. Validity can be ...
The three countries chosen for this paper are Jordan, Japan, and Germany. These three countries were chosen because they are among the most developed in their own specific regions. Geert Hofstede’s cultural dimensions helped establish a positive framework for cross-cultural communications; in fact, part of his theories are implemented in every major international business course in the world. Hofstede’s model is based on six dimensions: the power-distance index, individualism vs collectivism, the uncertainty avoidance index, masculinity vs femininity, long-term orientation vs short-term orientation, and indulgence vs restraint. Each country and each culture has very different levels of ...

Japan is reported to have the world’s third largest economy, which gives it an essential role in the global community. This calls for the need to understand the Japanese people’s self-concept and how they hold themselves up as individuals and as members of the society. It has been widely established that self-concept is far from being a static perception, rather it is a changeable system which is generally a result of an individual’s social relationships. It is observed that people normally hold a different perception of themselves as individuals, and as a social group member. Consequently, ...
Sample Dissertation Chapter On Sexual Practices Of Haitian Women That Put Them At Risks For HIV/AIDS
Background of the Study
The problem of HIV and AIDS has become a global one in the short time since the identification of the virus. Although there is no vaccine to protect against the virus, knowledge and education are two powerful shields against infection—and it has become clear in recent years that impoverished women in the developing world are particularly heavily impacted by HIV transmission and development of AIDS (UNAIDS, 2016). The goal of finding a way to slow or completely halt the spread of HIV and the development of AIDS has been an epidemiological conundrum for many years. Promoting health and ...

ABSTRACT As telemedicine is used throughout the rural parts of Africa, there are many professionals and patients who find the entire process very beneficial because there is an allowance for a decrease in transmission of highly contagious diseases such as MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). If there are clinics that are found in locations surrounding rural Africa, there are strong concerns that patients will be able to transmit their diseases to other people who are otherwise healthy. With the use of telemedicine, the patients and the health care providers can see each other through a confined space and there is ...

Nursing as a practice has continuously evolved in order to align with the variety of stimuli that influence the profession. These may include new medical treatments and technical systems and dynamic social norms and expectations. One recent trend that has significantly influenced nursing is the need for culturally competent care, a situation attributed to the increasingly dynamic and multicultural society. For this reason, nurses are required to provide culturally competent care in the high-stress and high-acuity environments they operate in (Dayer-Berenson, 2011). This would allow one to improve their skills as patient advocates as they can adequately comply with ...
Determination and interpretation of elasticities
Demand function, QD = -3,500 – 150P + 30A + 75PX + 10 Y P = 300 cents, A = $750, PX = 200 cents and Y = $10,000 QD = -3,500 – (150 × 300) + (30 × 750) + (75 × 200) + (10 × 10,000) = -3,500 – 45,000 + 22,500 + 15,000 + 100,000 = 89,000 units
Price elasticity of demand
Price elasticity of demand = ∂QD∂P × PQD
Change in quantity demanded/change in price, ∂QD∂P is the coefficient of price, P in the demand equation.
∂QD∂P = -150 QD = 89,000 P = 300 cents PED = -150 × 30089,000 = -0.5056 The above price elasticity of demand indicates that the quantity demanded of the low-calorie, microwavable food decreases by 0.5056% for every increase in price by one cent. The elasticity is less ...

If businesses and the general public dedicate themselves to greater efforts in food safety then these illnesses would never really be a threat. Understanding foodborne illness better it is best to look at some of the most common sources of foodborne illness, including Salmonella, ...

HR CULTURE-CROSS HR STRATEGIES
Hofstede came up with the cultural dimensions which are still being practiced today as a pre-requisite to the understanding of the concept of cross cultural communication. These dimensions are also said to have a strong influence on the values of members of a society and also on how these values link to the behavior. Cultural dimensions give insight into how organizations and businesses would make policies for a specific location. The six dimensions of culture include power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, long term orientation and indulgence (Hofstede, 1984; Hofstede, Hofstede, and Minkov, 1991). Before actually relating these dimensions ...

This lab study was undertaken to analyze the effects of torque forces and shear modulus of rigidity on three circular solids namely, half-hard brass (60% Cu and 40% Zn), 0.1% and 0.4% carbon steel. This was done by subjecting the samples to a shearing stress and by noting down its angular displacement. The maximum torque of each sample was calculated and compared. Their polar moment of inertia was also calculated to assist in analysis. The value of shear modulus of rigidity of each of the samples was determined using a graph which related torque and angular displacement. It was ...
Individuals on coming together to achieve a common goal make a team. In teamwork the common goal of the team is more important than the needs of individuals. Jesus constituted a strong team of twelve apostles. From the perspective of Jesus Christ, two individuals are always better than one; for instance Jesus sent two apostles to find the colt (Mathew 21:2 New International Version). Similarly, Jesus sent Peter and John for preparing the Passover meal. As team work is vital to achieve common organizational goals, the team members should demonstrate impeccable behavior patterns to follow in the footsteps of ...

This group setting would allow me to offer alternative viewpoints to the issue and possible solutions to the tasks. Additionally, I believe the cross-functional team would enhance competitiveness and improve innovation through creative collaborations processes. A cross-functional team is unidirectional since decision-making ...
