Worries about a decline in the birth rate are nothing new, at least in many developed nations. As early as 1909, Hoffman made it perfectly clear that a love for babies was not the reason that some in the U.S. fretted over the declining number of births. Rather, it was concern over the decreasing rate of births among “native white married women” while the “rate of reproduction [was] materially higher among the foreign element” (p. 676). Similar concerns are in evidence today in places such as Israel, where the comparatively high rate of births among the Arab population has ...

Introduction
The Americans have been proud regarding the relationship of their military sector and the civilians throughout the history. One of the major reasons why United States takes pride to this relationship is the subordination of the military sector to the authority of the civilians. The military-civil relationship in the United States is based on the doctrine about the civilian control over the military. This doctrine states that the control over the strategic plans and decision-making processes which could generally affect the whole nation should be in the hands of the civilian leaders and not the military leaders. It has ...

Question 1: Market Segmentation is vital to targeting the correct consumer market for today’s numerous types of businesses. In what ways can a company divide their consumer markets into segments? Market segmentation is an integral part of effective marketing. Market segmentation, in some terms, is slicing out a group of people from a large market based on common characteristics, needs and behaviour (Rizzi, 2015). So, a market segment is a set of customers that are expected to respond in a similar manner when exposed to a marketing activity. There are four main ways that a company can use ...
The demographic profile
As it has been indicated by Kumar et al (2014) in the scope of their study, the lion share of the statistical data on demographic profile of epilepsy from both developed and developing countries may be referred as a retrospective one. It means that there is an insignificant number of the studies, which pertain to the selected age group – children in the current realities of the 21st century (Garzon et al 237-245). As it was indicated by Garzon et al (2003), the core limiting factor in this case is the access to the professional health care services in the ...

However, factors related to individual determinants of utilization of health care services as well as the enabling factors must be taken into consideration in the discussion of health care utilization. I would like to start with the words Megan Chao (1998): “For many centuries, discovering the fountain of youth has been just a dream for humans. Aging is an inevitable process in human life, the result of a highly variable biological cycle. An aging population is likely to seek different kinds of medication and stop using the ones they have been using before. This necessitates the need for different kind of drugs and products that may be used to foster wellness. Another demographic is the women who opt not to have children. Many women are opting not to reproduce and instead spend their money on hair and beauty products which they can access easily from a drug store. Another demographic are the millennials who prefer to shop online for its convenience and positive reviews on pharmacies (Morgan, 2006).

End-of-life care refers to the provision of care to patients with incurable terminal illnesses and patients who are in a permanent vegetative state, and that type of care is one of the most commonly debated ethical issues in contemporary health care for two reasons. First, because of the development and advancement of medical techniques and technologies, physicians and nurses are now able to prolong the patients’ lives, but those interventions do not always improve the patients’ quality of life or maintain their human dignity (Cherry & Jacob, 2016). Second, the human population is aging, so the prevalence of terminal illnesses ...

Demographic aging refers to the shift of the age structure or age distribution of a population as the population moves towards older ages. The effect of demographic aging is a decline in fertility transition, reduced mortality rate of older persons, increased dependency ratio and a shrinking labor force. Besides, the people kept childhood friendships active as they moved into old age and community members integrated. Cultural values entrenched a strong respect for the elderly, which ...

The appointment of a Chief Operating Officer also ensured that medical staff coordinated well with management and met goals in the areas of regulatory compliance and performance assessment. The United States government involves the separation powers to give each segment of the government the freedom to execute its roles independently (Thurber & Antoine 123). Based on my opinion, Madison believes that the separation of powers in the governmental setting will lead to the subdivision of roles; the three arms of government will have the ability to operate independently of each, other. Additionally, the division of roles will make it easy for the government to handle various tasks bestowed upon it by its citizens (Thurber & Antoine 124). It will be possible for one arm of government to act as ...

Policy Brief, Design and Evaluation of A Public Policy: Child Welfare in the Changing Family Unit
Introduction Children need a conducive environment where they can grow in peace and develop in all other areas that relate to their welfare. The conventional family unit consisted of a nuclear set up comprising of a man, woman and the children they sired together. Such formed the foundation through which children could draw strength and some kind of inspiration due to the availability of both gender parents (Conger and Donnellan, 2007, p175). According to Hobson and Fahlén, (2009) it was also an opportunity where the man and woman would bring up their children together and give them love ...
Population dynamics is a central area of study in most humanities. Demographic trends seem to indicate that the global population would increase in the future. However, some critics argue that this may not be the case. Is the world population going to increase or decrease in the future? A close analysis of the present trends and the future projections indicate that the demographic trends would decline significantly. The first major reason why the population would decrease is the birth rate. Since the industrial revolution, the world population has been growing steadily. However, according to Friedman (2015), the population explosion ...

The use of free samples is one among many subtle marketing strategies used by fast food companies in the United States. Most fast food companies mainly use free samples when introducing new food products into the market. Usually, customers are not aware of how the new food products taste or smell, and the free samples, therefore, give them an opportunity to try them before buying them. Even though this marketing technique seems subtle and unobtrusive, of important to note is that it can create an instant demand for selected products. For instance, a free cookie sample to a child ...

Challenge of Managing Diversity in a Global Context
Managers have to be up to date on how they can manage a global workforce by being more culturally intelligent. If they do so, the challenge brought about by the lack of proper understanding of diversity management will be eliminated at their workplaces since it is a very ineffective stumbling block. For instance, managers need to adopt practices that allow each employee to work according to their race, values, preferences, lifestyles, and even beliefs (Mor-Barak, 2011). Such diversity issues may lead to interpersonal conflict which lessens group cohesiveness and can be problematic despite bringing together creativity and problem-solving skills. ...
