The human body is home to a variety of organisms ranging from the minute bacteria to eukaryotic mites. Demodex folliculorum is a small arthropod that lives in human hair follicles and sebaceous glands. D. folliculorum and the closely related D. brevis live in a commensal relationship on humans and are harmless in the normal course of events.
