In my opinion, Isaac Asimov uses humor and irony first to mock QT, Powell and Donovan with the help of humorous situations that happen in the story. QT does not believe that he was created by people and tries to analyze and find the answers. He does not believe in what the Earthmen tell him, even in what he read in books.
