Multinational companies refer to those that conduct their operations and have subsidiaries in at least one country other than their country of origin. The first MNC came into existence in the 17th Century; the East India Company was the first one. Since then, MNCs have grown to over sixty thousand today being fueled by growth in world economy, better business infrastructure, and globalization amongst other factors.
