Freud and his followers came up with an unconscious mind account. This serves a significant part in explaining psychoanalysis. There was the division of the mind by Freud into a conscious mind, also known as the ego as well as the unconscious mind. Later, it was demarcated into the id (Instincts and ego) and conscience (superego).According to the theory of Freud, unconscious refers to the processes in the mind whereby individuals create an image of themselves being unaware. Freud came up with a proposal of the hierarchical and vertical architecture of the human consciousness, the preconscious, conscious and ...

Analysis
The article ‘Barriers to Parental Involvement in Education: An Explanatory Model’ covers the issue of the parental involvement and characteristic features. Nowadays more and more schools establish a program of the parent involvement. Though, the influence of the established relationship between parents and teacher, on the one hand, and parents and children, on the other hand, produces more and more positives outcomes, there are still barriers, which serve as a negative impact in this process.
What part(s) of the article do you agree with and disagree with the most? Why?
I totally agree with the statement that the parental involvement in the teaching-learning process may vary depending on different factors. It is too generalized ...
Abstract
Regression analysis estimates the value of a random variable (dependent variable) for a given value of an associated independent variable. The regression equation provides the formula for such a calculation. In the present case, which is about the analysis of the dependence of total monthly sales on the monthly customer traffic, the consultant first examines to see if there is a correlation between the two variables. To achieve this, the consultant uses the scatterplot, plotting the points on a graph. After analyzing the scatterplot, the consultant is convinced that there exists a strong positive linear correlation between the two ...

Who wins and who loses? The one who wins has reflected his or her ability to influence the behavior of others. This is power. As defined by Robert Dahl, a leading political theorist, power is the ability of one to get another to do something he or she would not otherwise do as a result of the will imposed by the other, where adherence is driven by obligation rather than force. Power is dynamic, relative, situational and multidimensional. According to Steve Lukes, there are three dimensions of power. The first dimension of power is intentional and active, and involves ...

These include Descriptive speeches Definition speeches Explanatory speeches Demonstration speeches Descriptive speeches provide a detailed and clear picture of a place, animal or a place using words (Lucas, 1998). At the end of the speech, the audience has a clear vision of the subject.
Definition speech
This type of a speech explains a theory or a topic regarding a particular subject. Explanatory speech It is sometimes referred to as a briefing (Lisa, 2016). It is similar to a descriptive speech since they both clarify a topic. This type of speech, however, places emphasis ...
Report on the relationship between assets and sales
Executive summary A company’s investment in foreign assets has a bearing on the amount of foreign sales it makes. The regression analysis indicates a positive association between the ratio of foreign sales to total sales and the ratio of foreign assets to total assets. This implies that transnational companies should invest more in foreign assets to improve their foreign sales. They should also consider other factors affecting foreign sales such as international marketing strategies including advertising expenditure, among others. Investment in foreign assets is not the only contributor to foreign sales as indicated by the model’s coefficient ...

For long, the concept of economic change has been interesting economists. The reasons why some of the countries are poor while others are rich or even the understanding of why some nations grow faster than others has constantly disturbed the understanding of most economists. The theory of economic growth has been put upfront in explaining the growth indices of different nations. In its place, the theory of economic growth aims at explaining whether poor countries can grow faster than their rich counterparts, catch up with them and close their income gaps, that is converge. Elaborated by Trevor Swan and ...

The Moral Critique The moral critique views that political scientist's, as well as economists, became less principle experts who betrayed their original vision and goal of political economy. Greater than any other social sciences economists separated themselves from these controversial concerns in last half of the century and have since developed a personal contained professional discourse. The newly created discourse is that of positive science that excludes the evaluative claims earlier stipulated. Myrdal Gunnar never wanted to see these economist returning to the political and moral commitment and advocated for a clear distinction between the advocate and scientists roles ...
Correlation analysis is used to show the strength of the relationship between two variables. Coefficient of correlation shows the strength and the direction of the relationship between variables. The coefficient of correlation is one of the most widely utilized and abused statistical measure. The abuse comes in the sense that people sometimes overlook the fact that it measures nothing but the strength of a linear link and does not mean a cause-effect relationship. The correlation is computed by use of a mathematical formula where we obtain values ranging from -1< r < +1. Whereby r is the correlation coefficient. ...

Criminal Justice research is essential to upgrade law enforcement efficiency in combatting criminal activity. Hence, it is important for the research to come up with specific purpose in relation to the problem. Research purposes outline the problem and plot the procedure for the researcher to achieve the desired outcome. The four principle research purposes each have potential influence outcomes of subsequent researches. It is imperative to choose the proper approach and to ensure that the outcome contains the solution on how to deal with each type of criminal activity. It is remarkable that despite their dynamics, the research purposes ...
1. When Kyle is mad, he spits at other students in the class. This sentence is an explanatory fiction because the first clause “Kyle is mad,” does not show causality with respect to spitting at other students. The statement is fictional because spitting is a type of anger. Thus, the statement re-states “effect” as “cause”. Moreover, the statement does not specify what makes Kyle mad in the first place. 2. Brad gets anxious in class because he has OCD. This sentence is an explanatory fiction because it simply states a symptom of OCD, anxiety. Such a statement is causal, ...
a) Random sampling is where each element of a given population has equal chances of being included in the sample since the sampjle is picked arbitrarily. Once the sampling frame is identified, the researcher uses a table of random numbers to select the sample or through computer generated numbers. The main advantage of random sampling is that the same is a representative of the entire population. It also eliminates researcher bias. Besides, it allows for application of inferential statistics. The main disadvantage of random sampling are that it is complex. b) It is primary data and not secondary data ...

Abstract The dominance of commercial technological innovation in the context of modern society has resulted in a form of technological dependence for some individuals, causing them to pay less regard to aspects of the physical world. Technological innovation has assumed a noteworthy role in the flow of our daily lives, such as through the methods we employ to maintain interpersonal connections. Numerous individuals are included in a matrix of connections facilitated by technological innovation and an increasingly digitalized culture; however, the vast amount of these affiliations can leave individuals the global community feeling subjectively void. The effects of technological ...

Traditionally, accounting standards have been developed by different countries on the basis of local legal, economical and cultural institutions frameworks (Elliott and Elliott, 2009, p. 158). As a result, the standard setting was very country specific. With the globalization process at work for the last 3-4 decades and increasing mobility of capital internationally accepted accounting standards have become necessary to facilitate cross border transactions and make financial reporting comparable between countries and companies thereby leading to a greater transparency for investors (Nobes, 2004). IASB has been set up as a private international standard setter with a mandate to create high quality accounting standards ...
A schema describes a pattern of thought that is organized or behavior that categorizes information and relationships between them. All cognitive processes can be divided into two categories, that is, automatic and controlled processes. An automatic process is normally unintentional and involuntary in nature while controlled processes are intentional, effortful and can be constrained by resources available at the moment.
The two processes have several benefits. Schema allows people to relate the present occurrences to the past due to the fact that schema helps to categorize information. Schema also helps people to make sense out of some unfamiliar stimuli ...
Metaparadigm is a term that distinguishes a discipline and gives that discipline an abstract view. It distinguishes one field of study from another. Metaparadigm is a combination of two words, Meta and paradigm. Fawcett defined metaparadigm of discipline as groups of statements that identify its phenomena in a global way and not specific. Fawcett explained the concepts that define the discipline. Fawcett identified four concepts of nursing as environment, health, nursing and human beings (Fawcett, 2005). The nursing discipline development has seen many challenges over the past century. Fawcett formulated that nursing is a distinct discipline composed of structural holarchies, which are integrated to ...
Regression is used to analyze the situation among variables; this is done by estimating a relationship. Regression can be simple with one independent variable (x), multiple which has more than one variable; in this model there are multiple regression model that are characterized with a k variable that is independent. Linear where the y variable are with parameters that are to be estimated and one value in an equation not an error item. For example the general use of indicators of economy, for instance the Dow Jones consumer price index and the industrial average that a producer or a suppler can use to ...

Based on the 2010 HSE data, we have done statistical analysis of all the variables as potential attributing factor to asthma. Variables such as salary, Smoking habits, Ethnicity, Drinking habits and Sex were analyzed. It was found that salary is negatively correlated with asthma or in simple words as the income of a household increases, chances of asthma reduce. Drinking was also found as a contributing factor to asthma. Heavy drinkers are less prone to asthma than non-drinkers. Also, it was established that there is not enough evidence that smoking causes asthma. It was also found that asthma is not biased ...

Every auditor should express his opinion after auditing company financial statement. The audit opinion expressed depends on findings obtained in the audit process. There are four types of opinions which can be expressed by an auditor. They include express unqualified opinion, unqualified report with explanatory paragraph, qualified opinion, or even an adverse opinion. The opinion selected depends on how a company has: abided by GAAPS, material misstatement of value of assets and whether the scope of audit has been limited. In carrying out of audit both the auditor and the management are expected to observe some ethics to ensure the ...
Dicey was an incredibly important figure in the development of the Rule of Law in contemporary Britain. The Rule of Law, in a modern context, has been developed through many different societies; however, the liberal understanding of the role of government and law in British society today is very much the result of Dicey’s philosophical input. Dicey suggested that individuals cannot be punished in any way unless they have committed some sort of transgression against a law that has been established by the rightful government and Courts in the realm. Dicey also suggested that an important characteristic of the Rule ...

Environmental laws entail different treaties and laws which aim at protecting the environment. The laws include complex interlocking bodies which operate in an attempt to regulate how the human interrelate with the environment. The laws aim at reducing natural and human effects on the environment. The laws on environment are, however, seen to create controversies when they tend to limit certain businesses, or regulate companies on what they are used to do. The limitations and stoppage limit or stops production of what was initially produced hence limiting consumption. Environmental laws become painful to deal with leading to a backlash ...

Poverty is the deprivation of basic things like money, food or assets that are essential for a normal life. GDP on the other hand is the goods and services produced within the by a country in a year. It is known that with increase in poverty it leads to reduction in output of a country. This is because essential resources that are vital for production are lacking. It also means that human capital is insufficient and consequently the resources needed to stir growth are used to feed and provide for the poor population. Poverty and unstable GDP are common phenomena in developing ...

Worldview
Worldview refers to a set of suggestions and proposals that a person holds and deeply influences the life of people with similar believes. - The followers of Christian religion commonly regard their religion as a collection of ideas that may change their life and follow Christianity as a guideline to interact with society. Followers hardly comprehend their religion as a whole conceptual framework. - Following are the few examples of worldview narrated by different authors. - According to James Sire, the concept of worldview is just a conventional set of suppositions that one may hold of this world and its origin . ...

Where freedom has been put to test then speeches are twisted to fit the timing in preparation for war. However, time has brought change that has added further freedom and power to individuals. The consequence of this power change is the huge shift in the way leaders give speeches. Political leaders are no longer, held; with the same breath as educational scholars, thus much teaching is not, expected of them. However, accountability and clear reasoning is one of the many things expected by people. By these, speeches are therefore explanatory in nature as the leaders defend their position. The ...

The various setbacks to developing and authenticating input distributions are well known in any institutions that deal with risk assessment and analysis. Due to all these, it has been given a considerable attention more recently. There are various strategies of estimating probability distribution from either empirical data or standard approaches, which are limit practical effectiveness especially whenever such data available are limited. Whenever such cases presents themselves, certain mechanisms and strategies are employed. Such include maximum entropy criteria which actually synthesizes distribution from priori constraints. The other mechanism is to employ the use of ‘default’ such include the triangle or ...
Part I: Observation
This report aims to better understand the social organization and behavior of Propithecus coquereli. The species is more commonly referred to as Coquerel's sifaka and it is native to the island nation of Madagascar off the eastern coast of Mozambique. Like other primates, Coquerel’s sifaka is a species that adheres to an intricate, and hierarchical social structure. Between primates, however, more idiosyncratic behaviors exist that generalizations of a species offer little by way of understanding unique characteristics and social nuances. In this report, two primates named Lucy (female) and Ricky (male) are observed. Although their monikers suggest that an intimate, ...

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS OF AUDITING
Introduction An Audit report is a formal disclaimer or opinion given by either an internal auditor or an outside auditor (Collings, 2011). The audit report, after completion, is handed over to the consumer, the company or organization in which the evaluation was done, so as to show assurance of service. The report can then be applied in decision making by the user or can be put to other uses. The audit report is a very paramount instrument when it comes to reporting financial information to businesses or organizations. Discussing the Use of Idioms in the English Language
INTRODUCTION When we hear phrases like, “it is raining cats and dogs,” “a knight in shining armor,” and “once in a blue moon.” These phrases, or idioms, are not necessarily “self explanatory” and yet we seem to know what they mean, or at least we think we do (Oxford Royale Academy 2014). In order, respectively, they are saying that it is raining heavily, someone came to my rescue, and the last are things that happen very rarely. However, the understanding of these phrases is not innate. You may understand them, I may understand them but to someone who is unfamiliar ...

Rationalism is the major developed concept during the time of John Locke. His goal in his works is to build a more sophisticated foundation for information and science. The method he proposed is to evaluate the scope, limitation and reliability of the knowledge of humans and to differentiate it to the irrational concepts and ideas. He started to investigate the ability of the human mind by analysing the origin of our ideas. Locke believed that in order to understand the human mind, one should trace the origin of the idea from the individual’s experience (Kaijo, np). John Locke’ ...
The Han Dynasty (206 BC – AD 220) was built when Prince of Han, Liu Bang, smashed the Imperial Army of Qin in Wei Valley. The success was initially a piece of a mass disobedience that emerged after the demise of the First Qin Emperor. The individuals were disillusioned and miserable with the tyranny of the Qin successors and their distinguished govern in the domain. However, despite the fact that Chinese antiquarians portray the Han Dynasty as a time of changes, there are evidences that the Han emulated a large portion of the tenets of the Qin Dynasty. This was done through logically incorporating ...
Socrates: I would say that determinism is when a person believes that a person’s actions are completely unavoidable. That our actions are essentially predetermined and we are unable to change fate. This is something that can also be seen in nature.
Me: So then, what of free will?
Socrates: Free will could be considered as almost the opposite of determinism. Where under determinism one believes that man cannot change the events that transpire under the idea of free will one believes that man has the ability to affect absolutely everything that happens to him. He is not bound to any set of predetermined events. Me: Do ...
According to CIA, “terrorism is a “premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents” (cia.gov, 2014). Nevertheless this definition is not complete and requires significant adjustments. Martha Crenshaw in her article “Theories of terrorism: Instrumental and organizational approaches” tries to conceptualize terrorism before making any recommendations on how to combat it. According to Crenshaw, the act of terrorism is a deliberate choice by political actor (Crenshaw 1987, p. 13). In the first case terrorism is an attempt to achieve collective values of the group under the influence of external pressure, particularly under the government’s ...

Economics is a branch of social science that focuses on studying how individual, households, and organizations work. These individuals are collectively coined as economic actors, agents, or players, as their collectively movements influence how the overall economy works. The study of economics also deal with how these economic players manage resource—especially natural resources which are considered to be scarce or limited; how they use, buy, and sell alternative commodities, all in an effort to arrive at their desired ends. An individual, one of the economic factors we have mentioned, may, for example, go to a supermarket to buy goods for ...

We measure population health by comparing the status of health over time. Infant mortality is one of those measurements that serve as a barometer for this comparison and makes understanding the effect of health systems and programs between comparable periods (Reidpath and Allotey). Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is defined as “the number of deaths in children under 1 year of age per 1000 live births in the same year” (Reidpath and Allotey). The IMR reflects the overall health scenario of a country and statistical measures of developed and developing cuontries indicate that a high or very high IMR is experienced in ...

Kahn, Kernan, Arnoff and Griswold (2008) scrutiny culture as a set of behaviors and beliefs that typify, characterize and distinguish a particular age, social or ethnic group. These behaviors and beliefs that are put together are learnt or taught by associating with precise groups. According to culture, persons should conduct themselves in accordance to set rules and regulations. Consequently, culture becomes a very strong contributor on substance abuse by the adolescence. Griswold et al. (2009), states that cultures permit the consumption of prohibited substances as a cultural practice. They go ahead to give examples of some countries in Middle East and Somali cultures that ...

It is generally agreed by economists and finance specialists that the 21st century is Africa’s century. Growth in the continent now averages 6% over the last five years. It is believed that for Africa’s development to be sustainable, the largest economies in the four main regional blocs (that is Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa) have to be stable economically. The stability of a currency is one attribute of a stable economy. A lot, therefore, can be said about the stability of a country by examining the stability of its currency. Factors contributing to the strength of a country's currency might ...
Many decisions made in operation management are based on forecasts. This is the basic principle used in matching supply to demand. A company’s accurate forecast enables it to take advantage of future opportunities and decrease on any impending risk (Stevenson 109). Forecasting is basically an anticipation of an event in the future. In business, entrepreneurs need to forecast or make a valid anticipation of what a customer will want to buy. In operations management, forecasting is a way of getting information on what a customer will demand in future. This is a way of aligning the supply according to demand in the market. ...
Gold is one of the most popular metallic elements. It has the symbol Au which means “shining dawn” or Latinaurum.
