Social Distance Theory
Social distance can be described as a propensity to approach or withdrawal from a group. The division of people based on a social class, ethnicity, race, and gender can be described as a social distance that prevails within or out of the societies. The differentiated behavior of people that leads them to their segregation with another person or persons of the society is a social distance (Prandy, 2003).
