Because of the prevalence of spousal emotional abuse, especially on women, it is considered as a significant societal problem that must be faced. (2004) article on “Effects of Forgiveness Therapy on Anger, Mood, and Vulnerability to Substance Use Among Inpatient Substance-Dependent Clients” presents the finding of the research investigating the effectiveness of forgiveness therapy (FT) as a treatment for anger, anxiety, and depression among substance abuse victims. The article depicts that anger and violence among substance abusing people are issues of concern in society.
