Introduction
Regarded as the founding father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist by profession. Psychoanalysis is a clinical method developed by Freud in order to treat patients with psychopathology through an exchange of dialogue between psychoanalyst and a patient. In his creation of psychoanalysis, Freud came up with the concepts of id, ego, superego and defense mechanisms in order to resolve the conflicts between the trios.
