Relevance of nursing research problem, addressed in SRR
The research review, developed by Lanzkron, Wilson, Beach, Haywood, Park and Segal (2008), is dedicated to studying published literature on the efficacy, effectiveness and toxicity of hydroxyurea, when used in adults with sickle cell disease. Sickle stem disease is a dangerous condition that tends to decrease life expectancy by 25-30 years and cause high morbidity level, while hydroxyurea remains the only approved disease-modifying therapy (Lanzkron et al., 2008, p.939).
