Introduction
The Caucasus is a region, characterized by diverse ethnic and religious composition and the high number of ethnic conflicts and separatist regions. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the post-Soviet states of this region witnessed and suffered numerous confrontations on the ethnic ground and faced several claims for separation and independence.
