Abstract
Bipolar disorder is one of the various clinical disorders that affect millions of people worldwide. There is no known cause for the disorder though genetics and environment play a significant role in exacerbating it. This paper examines the journey of one Carrie Mathison, a CIA agent who suffers from bipolar disorder. Like other patients with bipolar disorder, Mathison experienced frequent maniac episodes. She also exhibited high-risk behaviors, which are characteristic of bipolar disorder patients. That behavior was evident in her lack of inhibition and excessive drinking.
