China vs. Taiwan
One of the longest going conflicts of the 20th century is the one between the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of Taiwan (ROC). Taiwan was once a province of China. In 1863, the Qing Dynasty took control of Taiwan eventually making it, its own province in 1885 (Spence, 1999).
