Question 1 Response: Institutionalized racism was at its height prior to the Great War - otherwise known as World War I - where both Blacks and women were not given full rights as American citizens. Of course, all that changed when both Black men and American women, from rich and middle class families, decided to put their country first. As for myself, I spent my years in the war with the 93rd Infantry Division, the Blue Helmets, but more specifically, the 369th Infantry Regiment that was also known as the Harlem Hellfighters.
