Introduction
The movement was launched by Gandhi on 8th August in 1942. The movement was aimed at acquiring freedom from the British rule. Gandhi advocated for an orderly exit from the British rules; hence the movement involved a mass protest based on non-violence demonstration (Bhuyan, 78).
