The 2016 Presidential race for the White House is occurring during a time of increased polarization between the two dominant American political parties. Republican and Democrat political candidates, as well as registered voters, are sharply divided on issues such as tax reform, public services and programs, income inequality, military spending, women’s reproductive rights, and the civil rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
