Introduction
Based on advances in mind-body research and the practicality of self-kindness and mindfulness, self-compassion offers a new way of thinking about the practical strategies for ending chronic pain. Self-compassion includes a stance of compassion, friendliness, interest, and open-heartedness toward an experience observed in the present moment.
