The beginning of the Protestant Reformation is usually associated with Martin Luther publishing his “95 Theses” in 1517 (Reformation). As was a common practice at the time, Luther posted his document on the church door as a sign that he wished to debate the topics listed. He was a German Augustinian monk and a lecturer at the University in Wittenberg.
