The Use and Abuse of History in the Recent Ukrainian Crisis
A revisiting of Ukraine's geography and historical narrative would clearly shed light on the recent Ukrainian crisis and how the turmoil and sentiment in the Orange Revolution and the 2014 confrontation originate from a long history of struggle over the delicate status of Ukraine between East and West. Through the correct use of history, one would understand that history drew the dividing lines and spurred the conflict that spanned centuries.
