Buddhism
The religion was established in the sixth century before Christ. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama, an Indian who was born in the North eastern part of India. He had tried the religious practices of the day that included extreme fasting, exposure to pain, meditations and engaging in philosophy but he did not find enlightenment.
