Abstract
Using the regression equation and given values of independent variables, we estimated the elasticity of each of them and ascertained that the product is highly elastic to price levels and therefore, the firm can consider to decrease the price levels in order to increase their market share. At the same time, cross elasticity and income elasticity were also significant in relation to the demand of the product, although advertisement expenditure has negligible impact on the product’s demand. Hence, own price, price of related goods and income of consumer are three major factors which the firm should incorporate while ...

The buyers take different equation in the consideration while they go for any type of purchase. The buyers look at the quality, outlook and the products variable in order to make the correct decision. So, the quality and ...
1) Theories are to concepts as hypotheses are to variables. Hypotheses depend on tests that suggest multiple variables. On the other hand, theories are made up of concepts ("Theory and Practice of Social Research" 4). 2) Does a hypothesis propose a relationship between dimensions or variables? Yes. A hypothesis depends on the link that exists between two or several variables. Whereby, a slight change in variable ‘A,' leads to a change in variable ‘B.' In this case, it can be almost predictable that if the first event occurs on the first variable, then we expect variable ‘B' to ...
Question #1
The coefficient of determination (R-squared) shows the proportion of variance in the dependent variable, which is explained by the independent variable. Let’s say, the independent variable is the amount of money invested by a population of investors and the dependent variable is their profits received. Assume, the R-squared between the variables is 0.8567. This means that approximately 85.67% of the variance of profit received is explained by the amount of invested money.
Question #2
This phrase means that if the coefficient of correlation shows a strong relationship between the variables, it not always mean that there is a real causal ...

Clinical Question What would be the effect of competitive food and beverage (CF&B) policies on student weight outcomes in comparison to the students who have not followed the CF&B policies and those who have followed some other policy according to which some of the competitive foods are available to students?
How the clinical question indicates the type of study that will be done (quasi-experimental vs. experimental)?
This clinical question is showing the comparison of two groups. One comparison is that of the students following CF&B policies with the students who have not followed these policies. Second comparison is that of the students following CF&B policies with the students who have following some ...
The article talks about a study conducted by Moore, Clark and Kane in 2008 that deals with how people response to moral dilemma specifically killing. The subjects of the study were asked how morally appropriate it is for an individual to kill someone in order to save the lives of others. In order to assess the respondents, they were given twenty-four dilemmas that were designed to vary in terms of the physical directness of the killing, personal effect to the subject, and inevitability of death and intentionality of the action (Moore, Clark & Kane, 2008). The respondents were measured based ...
Questions for Guided Article Review
Article you’re reviewing: Please answer the following questions (type your response directly below each question): What was the primary hypothesis of the study? The primary hypothesis of the study is related to the idea a driver is distracted while holding a conversation on a cell phone, but a conversation with a passenger not only improves driver performance it creates a sense of shared situational awareness. This is an acceptable hypothesis, because in the past people were able to hold conversations in cars without a tremendous number of accidents associated with distracted driving. Yet, in the modern world, ...

Graphical Analysis is a straightforward program that enables the user to graph, analyze and find the relationship of variables easily (Guerrero 55). Data of the variables is entered from the computer keyboard, extracted from a disk saved file, or pasted from a clipboard. Graphical Analysis is as well a document creator, with the ability to compile different pages to a single document. In an experiment that involves analyzing the relationship between the density and mass of a substance, Graphical Analysis does it very well. The equation y=kx where y denotes the dependent variable, x denotes the independent variable, and ...
Cost Classification
It should be noted that the conceptual analysis of costs is based on comparison of different pricing models applied by the companies operating within similar business field. The manufacturing costs should be obligatory considered. The cost of manufacturing products of the navigation systems is very high. It may be explained by the fact that materials necessary for production consist of the unmanned, manned system, aircrafts, and space systems. In process of manufacturing and monitoring of the system high-skilled staff is required. Moreover, manufacturers of the details required by the navigation systems receive overhead profits. The non-manufacturing costs are related ...

Writing a research proposal can be a daunting task if one fails to approach it in a well-prepared manner. In writing research proposals, there are major checkpoints that need to be considered to ensure that the set objectives in the proposal are met. They include: Defining the problem and understanding the context, researching and consulting with experts, and synthesizing and communicating (Schutt, 2015). Defining the problem and understanding the context works as a roadmap to defining the project. Once completed, one is in a better position to develop a research plan and proceed to the next phase of the ...

Learning allows our brains to record and preserve beneficial behaviors and know how to avoid harmful ones. The consequences of the experiences we have or observe are stored in our memory as knowledge to influence our future behavior. The paper explores behavior change through a focus on the learning theories; classical and operant conditioning.
Operant Conditioning
It is a form of learning in which the response to a voluntary behavior influences whether or not the behavior will recur; this occurs through the use of reinforcements and punishment. Following the experiments of B. F. Skinner, we can conclude that a person or ...

This paper explores how research methodologies can be used to resolve organizational issues. Using Starbucks as the company of focus, this paper discusses the qualities of qualitative and quantitative research and how they can be used for investigation and analysis in an organizational setting. It is hypothesized, for instance, that the decline in Starbucks’ sales as well as the poor performance of some of its stores is due to poor customer service. The concept of customer service, however, is too abstract to measure directly. However, this hypothesis can be determined using qualitative research methods as opposed to the quantitative ...
Organizational Design
Contrary to typical assumptions that will associate the concept of organization design with that of structuring organizational charts and the likes, organization design has a more comprehensive and practical designation than it really sounds. There is a holistic way of looking at organization design –it is the modeling and alignment of all the involved elements of an organization with the intention of achieving an agreed upon objective. Organizational design is a forthright organizational process with a pertinence so outspoken, that it should literally be addressed in every status meeting of every department on that organization. Organization design is carried ...

Typography refers to the appearance and style present in printed matter. It also relates to the skill of arranging to ensure that published sources appeal to the readers. Neil Postman uses his book, ‘Amusing Ourselves to Death,' to analyze different ideologies like how the television acts as ‘the way of knowing’ and how it uncompromisingly acts hostile to the typography techniques. The media objects’ ‘Knowing’ process entails how they obtain information, the means they use, and how they present it to the public and therefore, the television’s mentioned procedure is more identifiable with the public compared to ...

ABSTRACT Young people in the United States are battling depression in record numbers, reaching an all-time high of 3 million patients in 2015. Researchers are continuing to search for alternative or additional methods than therapy and medications to improve depressive symptoms in teenagers and young adults. Some studies have demonstrated that as possible option in easing depression is physical exercise. In addition to assisting mental health issues, exercise promotes social interaction, physical health, and appearance. However, research has focused primarily on adults and therefore additional studies are needed with focus on the impact of exercise on depression in young ...

Linear Regression (LR) forecasts the value of a random variable (dependent variable) for a given value of an associated independent variable. The regression equation provides the formula for such a calculation. Simple Exponential Smoothing (SES) forecasts the bases its forecasts on a weighted average of past data, with more weight on the more recent periods. A smoothing factor helps in providing weight. It generally forecasts for the short-term. In the present case, we forecast the sales data for year-2 for ABC Furniture Company using both the methods. For SES, we use two smoothing factors α equal to 0.15 and 0.90 ...
Different Types of Facebook Page Posts
Different Types of Facebook Page Posts Social media marketing is consistently growing as more consumers and businesses become involved in social media sites, and various studies have confirmed the utility of social media sites such as Facebook in building brand image and equity for businesses owners (Kim, Sung, Lee, Choi, & Sung, 2016). However, the growing number of information available on the Internet also means users are overloaded with content and need to be selective of where they direct their attention. For Facebook page owners, that means their posts will be less likely to appear in the News Feeds of ...

Question
In all the programs the company chose to vary the amount of information shared with the workers of different stores considered.
In the program I and IV the independent variables are sick leave and absence.
In program III and IV, inventory and sales are partly dependent variable. It is expectable that increasing sick leave and absences result in declining sales. However, the sales made by the store will also depend on the demand for the products sold and customers’ purchasing power (income). The monthly staff time costs and weekly profits made are dependent variable i.e. their size depends on the performance management system implemented.

A & F Ltd.: Integrating Learning into Mashup Implementations
I. Introduction Organizations are learning differently. Compared to a conventional model by which individuals, work groups and whole organizations used to learn new business processes, current business practice has opened up new potentials for company-wide learning enabled by ICT platforms and applications. The growing collaboration, communication and sharing learning (and fun) experiences in current business practice is, indeed, both evolutionary and revolutionary. The learning behavior of operating businesses is evolutionary by phasing out older modes of learning (e.g. formal professional development, meetings and water cooler chats) and implementing similar platforms and applications (e.g. interactive, collaborative, user-friendly wikis). Thus, by ...

The production possibility frontier for Brazil depicts the maximum outputs of clothing and soda that the country can produce simultaneously with given combination of inputs as well as other factors of production. Ideally, the production possibility frontier shows the optimal production points of the economy at any point for the two products. Point E in the graph below denotes the optimal production point for both products. Additionally, the slope of the graph at point E reflects the marginal rate of transformation in Brazil. This denotes the rate at which the production of clothing can transform into the production of ...
The purpose/question that needs to be answered is why is the lamp not working.
A reasonable hypothesis would be that the light bulb is burned out. The experiment would be to change the light bulb (with a new one) and turn on the lamp to see if the lamp turns on. For data, one would just observe if the light comes on or not. This type of problem does not lend itself to being graphed. There are no measurements that need to be taken. The data can be observed by turning on and off the lamp to see if the problem has been fixed. The dependent variable is the lamp (whether it lights ...

Regression analysis estimates the value of a random variable (dependent variable) for a given value of an associated independent variable. The regression equation provides the formula for such a calculation. In the present case, which is about the analysis of the dependence of total monthly sales on the monthly customer traffic, the consultant first examines to see if there is a correlation between the two variables. To achieve this, the consultant uses the scatterplot, plotting the points on a graph. After analyzing the scatterplot, the consultant is convinced that there exists a strong positive linear correlation between the two ...

The dependent variable in this article is social pressure and the independent variable is social conformity. Asch observes that social pressures are those conditions or forces around people that influence behaviors, attitudes, and opinions. “Groups, societies and experts are some of the group pressures that influence ones character” (Asch, par. 10). Consequently, social pressure is the influence of a group or person to think or act in a particular manner. Most of the people act in particular ways because they do not want to “be left out and thus base their decisions on what others consider to be right ...

The members of the LGBT community continue to suffer discrimination all over the world. Interestingly, the level of discrimination varies greatly from one nation to another. For example, Western Nations are more tolerant to homosexuality compared to Middle Eastern Nations, in general. Such variation in the level of discrimination suggests that there are governing factors that determine the perception of people towards homosexuality, making it an interesting topic in psychology. In order to fully understand how the perceptions of people towards homosexuality vary, it is important to set some variables and study them. There have been diverse studies performed ...

Discussion
The concept of the correlation coefficient is crystal clear to me. I have understood that the value of correlation coefficient ranges from -1 to 1. The relationship between the variables increases as the value moves away from zero. However, the movement in the negative direction indicates an increase in negative relationship and movement in the positive direction indicates increased positive relationship between the variables. In a case of negative correlation, an increase in the independent variable leads to decrease in the dependent variable. On the other hand, in positive correlation, an increase in independent variable leads to increase independent ...
Discussion
One of the concepts of chapter three that is crystal clear is the application of additional rule on mutually exclusive events. This is because the concept requires one to understand the definition of a mutually exclusive event. Events are mutually exclusive if they cannot occur in the same period. One event must occur first. Thus, the probability of all the events occurring the same time is zero. The understanding above tells me that the application of the additional rule is straightforward. For example, in a classroom, there are only two pupils a boy and a girl. The probability of ...
The following experiment is designed to assess whether students that eat breakfast get higher grades than students that do not eat breakfast. It has been suggested that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and some studies show that eating breakfast can help people to focus for longer periods and to attain their goals (Adolphus et al., 2013).
Variables
In this study, the independent variable is eating breakfast (versus not eating breakfast) and the dependent variable is the grades that the students get. The students would have their baseline grades measured at the outset of the study and ...

Differences between a causal and a correlation Causation refers to the cause of something to happen. A causal claim shows that the two events are related to each other in such a way that one event is the effect of the other. Suppose there are two events; b and c, then a causal claim can take the form of “b causes c” in which b refers to the cause and c refers to the effect. On the other hand, correlation shows that the two variables (events) are related to each other in such a way that ...
