Abstract
Charles Bukowski’s book “the Devil was Hot” is a short story concerning business and friendship with the devil. As the writer begins, he seems to have had wrangles with his wife called Flo before he decides to drive off west towards the beach. At the beach, he is exposed to a roaring sound from the nearby building. A barker claims to have a devil in the cage, and he shows him to the public at a costs of 25 cents.
